In a poetic meeting of Saxon precision and Arabian heritage, Moritz Grossmann unveils the TEFNUT Seddiqi 75 Anniversary Edition — a timepiece conceived as a tribute to the 75-year legacy of Ahmed Seddiqi, Dubai’s most esteemed curator of watchmaking excellence. Inspired by the untamed beauty of the desert from which the Seddiqi story emerged, the watch becomes a study in contrasts: the quiet vastness of sand and sky interpreted through the meticulous artistry of German haute horlogerie. It is a celebration not only of partnership, but of the landscapes — real and cultural — that shape the spirit of both houses.

On the dial, the desert narrative reveals itself in texture and tonality. Using a historic 19th-century technique, artisans at the Glashütte manufactory silver-plate the surface by hand, rubbing a specialised silver paste until a velvety grain appears. This silver-brown patina evokes shifting dunes under the desert sun, while the dial’s vintage character is deepened by brown-violet lacquering on the Arabic-Hindi numerals, minute scale, and heritage M. Grossmann signature. Every stroke, every shade, is deliberate — a quiet homage to a region where tradition and modernity coexist in effortless harmony.

The hands, crafted entirely by hand within the manufactory, add another layer to the watch’s refined storytelling. Annealed to a brown-violet tone that echoes the palette of the dial, they possess a graceful curvature that catches the light with understated elegance. Slim, precise, and expressive, they become the final detail that completes the aesthetic dialogue between Glashütte craftsmanship and Dubai’s desert-born elegance.

Framed by a brushed stainless-steel case, the TEFNUT Seddiqi 75 sits lightly and comfortably on the wrist, its flat profile radiating quiet sophistication. The soft kudu leather strap in vintage brown reinforces the watch’s earthy aesthetic, grounding its refined construction in organic warmth. Every element — from the cross-grooved crown to the slender lugs — whispers of the brand’s devotion to proportion, comfort, and timeless restraint.

Inside, the TEFNUT Anniversary Edition is powered by the hand-wound calibre 102.1, a movement that exemplifies the beauty of classical Glashütte architecture. The 3/5 plate, stepped balance cock with micrometer screw, and raised gold chatons speak to centuries of watchmaking knowledge preserved and perfected. Sandblasted surfaces and a special “75” engraving on the train bridge honour Seddiqi’s milestone anniversary, marking the movement as both a mechanical achievement and a collector’s treasure.
