The 42mm Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon is encased in Chroma Forged Technology (CFT) carbon, a groundbreaking material that was first introduced in September 2024 with the Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date. This material is formed by coloring small pieces of carbon fiber, layering them with resin, and then compressing the mixture to expel air bubbles before undergoing a curing process in an autoclave oven. The result is a highly durable carbon block that is then meticulously machined to achieve its final form. The CFT carbon case in this special edition is enhanced with rich metallic bronze hues, imparting a sense of depth and refinement to its ultra-modern aesthetic. This is complemented by a sleek black ceramic bezel, screw-locked crown, and decorative push-piece guards, reinforcing the watch’s cutting-edge design.

The two-tone architectural dial is a visual masterpiece, featuring a black inner bezel and meticulously designed bridges. These elements are contrasted with pink gold inserts that echo the luminescent hour-markers, hands, and balance wheel. The mesh decorations positioned at 4, 8, and 12 o’clock further amplify the watch’s high-tech appearance while subtly revealing the mechanical intricacies of the hand-wound Calibre 2978 housed within. The reverse side of the timepiece showcases a black ceramic caseback frame with a pink-gold inner bezel inscribed with the “Royal Oak Concept” name. A sapphire crystal provides an uninterrupted view of the laser decorations on the movement, mirroring the intricate details of the dial.

Audemars Piguet has equipped this exceptional timepiece with an interchangeable black rubber strap secured with a titanium AP folding clasp. For a touch of classic elegance, an additional black alligator strap is included. The integration of a quick interchangeability system ensures versatility, allowing the wearer to seamlessly switch between straps to match different occasions and styles.

At the heart of this remarkable timepiece lies the Calibre 2978 movement, a marvel of precision and craftsmanship. This hand-wound mechanism boasts a minimum power reserve of 72 hours and operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour). With a total diameter of 31mm and a thickness of just 3.9mm, the movement consists of 241 meticulously crafted components, reflecting the pinnacle of Audemars Piguet’s horological expertise.

Water-resistant up to 50 meters, the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon combines both robustness and elegance, ensuring that it remains a distinguished companion for connoisseurs and collectors alike. The fusion of CFT carbon and ceramic with pink gold accents underscores the brand’s ability to bridge the gap between tradition and avant-garde watchmaking.

This limited edition masterpiece reaffirms Audemars Piguet’s enduring legacy in fine watchmaking. By involving loyal collectors in the design process, the brand has not only demonstrated its commitment to craftsmanship but also its ability to push the boundaries of collaborative innovation. The result is a watch that resonates with the spirit of the Middle East—a region known for its appreciation of heritage, luxury, and forward-thinking design.

Audemars Piguet remains the oldest fine watchmaking manufacturer still in the hands of its founding families, Audemars and Piguet. Since 1875, the Manufacture has continuously evolved, blending ancestral savoir-faire with cutting-edge advancements to create timepieces that defy conventions. Rooted in the Vallée de Joux, the company has fostered a culture of exploration, setting new standards in the world of Haute Horlogerie. The Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon limited edition is a testament to this enduring spirit—an exquisite fusion of art, engineering, and innovation.
