Vacheron Constantin’s latest masterpiece, Métiers d’Art Tribute to The Celestial, is a luminous ode to the night sky. With twelve exceptional references, each dedicated to a zodiac sign and its constellation, this breathtaking collection fuses the poetic wonder of astronomy with the house’s legacy in haute horlogerie. The result is a stunning blend of artistic expression and mechanical excellence, brought to life through centuries-old decorative techniques and cutting-edge watchmaking innovation.
Each timepiece in the series is a gallery of miniature art. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the dials feature hand-guilloché illustrations of zodiac signs, highlighted with diamond-set stars. This intricate craftsmanship turns classical guillochage into figurative storytelling—transforming tradition into art. The visual harmony continues across the 39 mm 18K white gold case, where baguette-cut sapphires in a floating channel-set bezel echo the brilliance of the night sky.

At the heart of each watch lies the ultra-thin Calibre 2160, a self-winding tourbillon movement renowned for its sophistication and precision. With a slim profile of just 5.65 mm and an impressive 80-hour power reserve, this calibre exemplifies the Maison’s pursuit of mechanical elegance. It combines perlage, hand-bevelled bridges, and a 22K gold peripheral rotor that leaves the beautifully finished movement in full view.
While the mechanical prowess is remarkable, it is the dialogue between astronomy and mythology that gives this collection its soul. From Aries to Pisces, each zodiac sign is carefully represented with artistic integrity. The four human signs—Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius—feature delicate opaline details, further emphasizing the figurative nature of the design. This artistic tribute not only reflects the mystery of the cosmos but also invites personal connection to celestial heritage.

It takes approximately 16 hours to complete the guilloché for a single zodiac sign, followed by a series of eight meticulous steps—from sunburst finishing to tourbillon aperture cutting, color application, and diamond setting. Over 27 hours are devoted solely to setting 96 baguette-cut sapphires that embellish the bezel, lugs, and clasp. The result is a seamless celebration of both technical and artistic mastery.
According to Sandrine Donguy, Product & Innovation Director, the Métiers d’Art Tribute to The Celestial series reflects the duality at the heart of Vacheron Constantin: technical excellence and decorative beauty. The maison’s in-house artisans continue to preserve time-honored crafts while evolving them into new forms. The figurative guilloché technique seen here was pioneered by Vacheron’s master guillocheur, offering new dimensions to this traditional discipline.

Vacheron Constantin’s fascination with celestial themes is not new. The Maison has long explored the connection between timekeeping and the heavens, including past works like the 1927 Art Deco table clock with zodiac motifs and the 2012 Legend of the Chinese Zodiac series. This latest release builds upon that legacy, drawing inspiration from the 2021 Les Cabinotiers single-piece creation: the Minute Repeater Tourbillon Sky Chart Leo Constellation.
The collection also pays homage to humanity’s historic relationship with the stars. By intertwining the zodiac with its associated constellations, these timepieces embody the unity of astronomy and astrology. From Mesopotamian sky-gazers to Renaissance astronomers, the stars have served as a source of both scientific discovery and spiritual interpretation—a heritage now immortalised on the wrist.

Available exclusively through Vacheron Constantin boutiques, each Métiers d’Art Tribute to The Celestial timepiece is certified with the Poinçon de Genève. This mark of excellence guarantees not only origin and finishing but also exceptional mechanical performance. For collectors and dreamers alike, this collection represents the perfect union of celestial storytelling and Swiss horological craftsmanship—a constellation of brilliance in every sense.
