Eberhard & Co., a revered name in haute horology, has unveiled its latest marvel at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024: the Chronographe 1887 Édition Limitée and Chronographe 1887 Automatique. These exquisite timepieces enrich the celebrated 1887 collection, initially launched to commemorate the brand’s founding year. With a harmonious blend of contemporary design and vintage aesthetics, these chronographs embody Eberhard & Co.’s commitment to precision, innovation, and history.

Timeless Design with a Contemporary Vintage Appeal

The Chronographe 1887 models draw inspiration from Eberhard & Co.’s archives, dating back to the 1930s. Their distinctive “contemporary vintage” charm features elements like a retro-style steel crown with a coaxial button and sinuous case profiles, evoking timeless elegance. The dials boast a rich array of details, including telemeter and tachymeter scales, intricate engravings, and color options like bronze achieved through metal deposition.

Technical Mastery: Exclusive Calibers

The heart of these chronographs lies in their meticulously developed movements. The Édition Limitée features the EB 280 caliber, a hand-wound mechanism limited to just 250 pieces, while the Automatique houses the EB 380, an automatic chronograph caliber. These exclusive movements, crafted in collaboration with Manufacture AMT, are visible through sapphire casebacks, revealing their blued column wheels and fly-back complications.

A Legacy Tied to Aviation

The fly-back complication, central to the Chronographe 1887 series, harks back to Eberhard & Co.’s aviation history. This feature, first introduced in the 1930s for timing flight stages, underscores the Maison’s enduring connection to the world of flight. From the historic Sistema Magini chronograph used during the daring Rome-Tokyo mission to collaborations with the Italian Royal Air Force, Eberhard & Co. has continually soared to new heights in watchmaking.

Craftsmanship Meets Sustainability

In addition to technical excellence, the Chronographe 1887 series reflects Eberhard & Co.’s commitment to sustainability. The watches are crafted using eco-conscious methods, ensuring that their timeless appeal is matched by modern responsibility.

Where Tradition Meets Modernity

With the Chronographe 1887 collection, Eberhard & Co. has masterfully fused its historical DNA with contemporary innovation. Whether it’s the intricate craftsmanship, aviation-inspired features, or commitment to sustainability, these timepieces stand as a testament to the brand’s legacy of excellence.

The Chronographe 1887 Édition Limitée and Chronographe 1887 Automatique are more than just watches; they are wearable pieces of history. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, these models are a must-have for their unique blend of artistry and functionality.

Explore the timeless elegance of Eberhard & Co. and experience the innovation that defines the Chronographe 1887 series.
