Laurent Ferrier Introduces the Classic Origin Beige, A Study in Timeless Modernity

To mark its fifteenth anniversary, Laurent Ferrier unveils a new interpretation of one of its most emblematic creations: the Classic Origin Beige. Rooted in the Maison’s founding philosophy, the timepiece reaffirms a quiet conviction—that true elegance is achieved not through excess, but through balance, proportion, and enduring restraint.

The watch is instantly recognisable by the softly rounded lines of the Classic case, whose form recalls a pebble smoothed by the steady passage of water. For the first time within the Origin collection, this familiar silhouette is rendered in warm-toned 5N red gold, lending a gentle glow that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. Paired with a beige dial, the result is a harmony of tones that speaks softly yet confidently.

Minimalism defines the dial’s composition. The opaline beige surface is punctuated by a brown railway track, central cross, and finely proportioned hour markers, creating depth without distraction. Red minute numerals introduce a discreet rhythm around the periphery, echoed by subtle accents on the small seconds display at six o’clock. At the centre, Assegai-shaped gold hands glide with serene precision, reinforcing the Maison’s commitment to clarity and legibility.

Every tactile detail has been considered, none more so than the signature rounded crown. Designed to feel generous and intuitive, it transforms the daily act of winding into a moment of pleasure rather than routine. This focus on sensory experience reflects Laurent Ferrier’s belief that watchmaking should engage not only the eye, but the hand as well.

Turning the watch reveals the manually wound calibre LF116.01, a movement defined by mechanical purity and meticulous finishing. Its architecture may appear restrained, but it is rich in nuance—from the screw balance guided by a refined overcoil, to the long-blade ratchet pawl that delivers a distinctive, crisp winding sensation. Precision and consistency are prioritised, allowing time to unfold with unbroken fluidity.

The finishing is executed entirely by hand within the Geneva workshop. Sandblasted bridges treated in dark tones contrast with mirror-polished screws, while finely executed interior angles quietly reveal the level of craftsmanship involved. These details may escape casual notice, yet they form the emotional core of the watch—an expression of patience, skill, and respect for tradition.

Completing the composition is a mocha-toned nubuck strap lined with soft Alcantara, secured by a gold pin buckle that echoes the warmth of the case. Together, these elements frame the Classic Origin Beige as more than a commemorative piece. It is a distillation of Laurent Ferrier’s values—where beauty is calm, precision is human, and time is allowed to speak in its own measured voice.
