Laurent Ferrier Marks 15 Years with the Classic Tourbillon Teal

There are moments in watchmaking when heritage and innovation converge so seamlessly that a timepiece becomes not just a creation but a celebration. For Laurent Ferrier, that moment has arrived with the unveiling of the Classic Tourbillon Teal – Série Atelier VII. Released to mark the maison’s fifteenth anniversary of independent horological artistry, the piece pays homage to the brand’s very first creation while presenting it anew in a strikingly modern hue.

At first glance, it is the dial that arrests the eye: a grand feu enamel canvas shimmering in teal, a colour suspended between green and blue, capturing both serenity and vibrancy in perfect balance. This chromatic innovation is housed within a platinum Classic case, its round silhouette echoing the timeless restraint that defines Ferrier’s design philosophy. Roman numerals and a railway minute track complete the dial, subtle reminders of the lineage from which this contemporary reimagining has sprung.

Yet, beneath its elegant exterior lies the beating heart of the LF619.01 calibre. This hand-wound movement incorporates a tourbillon with double balance spring, a discreet engineering marvel that pays tribute to the tourbillon’s original purpose: precision. Unlike many modern interpretations, here the tourbillon does not dominate the dial but instead remains concealed, a quiet guardian of accuracy in the tradition of classical watchmaking.

The discreet architecture reflects Ferrier’s ethos: to privilege purity and functionality over ostentation. It is an approach that has set the brand apart over the past fifteen years, building a reputation for pieces that whisper rather than shout, appealing to collectors who seek depth, integrity, and longevity in horology.

This new Série Atelier VII is as much a gesture to collectors as it is to history. Limited to just five individually numbered pieces, it continues a tradition established more than five years ago, offering rare editions exclusively through Laurent Ferrier’s own platform. The scarcity enhances its allure, transforming the watch into not merely an object of desire but a marker of belonging for those who understand the quiet codes of connoisseurship.

The decision to release the model exclusively online also reflects a changing era in fine watchmaking, where digital access meets artisanal exclusivity. In bridging this modern channel with timeless craft, Ferrier signals both fidelity to tradition and a willingness to adapt, ensuring the maison’s relevance in a shifting landscape of luxury.

In the Classic Tourbillon Teal, Laurent Ferrier has distilled fifteen years of independent artistry into a singular expression: at once a reflection of his beginnings and a vision of horology’s future. It is a piece that embodies not only timekeeping but also the passage of time—heritage preserved, renewed, and offered once again to those fortunate enough to call it their own.
