Raymond Weil’s Millesime collection marks a watershed moment for the Swiss watchmaker, as it was awarded the prestigious 1st Prize in the ‘Challenge’ category at the GPHG. It also happens to be the brand’s flagship collection at its Watches & Wonders 2024 debut. This Geneva-based family-owned brand, with almost five decades of independent watchmaking legacy, presents a collection that elegantly encapsulates the essence of Swiss precision and artistic soul.
The Millesime collection, embracing the neo-vintage trend, is a harmonious blend of classic aesthetics and contemporary Swiss watchmaking. It possesses a sense of timelessness with its meticulously crafted designs, and is available in six references.
The collection offers two elegant and distinctive time display variants: reference 2925 with a central seconds hand, and reference 2930 sporting a small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. Powering each watch is the RW1212 calibre, a mechanical self-winding movement that beautifully showcases its mechanics, cogs, bridges, and components adorned with delicate circular graining.
These models, protected by a ‘Glassbox’ sapphire crystal, showcase textured-finish dials. Each features a smooth hour track, a snail-shaped minute track and a vertically brushed dial centre. The compass-like small seconds display is particularly captivating, illustrating the brand’s flair for combining classicism with modernity. The watch is fastened with a grey leather strap adorned with a W-shaped seam, and meticulous finishing.
Raymond Weil’s Millesime collection is a forward-looking venture which, we are told, will explore new horological complications, materials, and potential collaborations, as we anticipate Raymond Weil’s 50th anniversary. “The millesime sets Raymond Weil on a journey through time and style, and as its name suggests, with panache. It is an exciting opportunity we eagerly embrace,” declares Elie Bernheim, grandson of the founder and CEO of Raymond Weil.
