This year Montblanc chose to add two new variants to its 1858 line, inspired by the Minerva military chronographs of the 1920s and 30s. The 2020 variants combine blue colours with icy white elements in a nod to glaciers and snowy mountain environments. A new bi-metal bracelet with vintage design features a mix of shapes – central links in the form of grains of rice in polished stainless steel, and on the outside, satin-finished rectangular links made of titanium. This new metal will be added across the entire 1858 product line. Two new blue vintage Sfumato calf and alligator leather straps coming from the Pelletteria in Florence complete the 1858 offer. Also, a high-quality woven blue “NATO” strap comes as an accessory.
1858 Split Second Chronograph Limited Edition 100
This limited edition of 100 comes in a 44 mm full satin-finished, grade 5 titanium. The dial is crafted from solid gold and is adorned with a gradated blue grand feu enamel, creating a shiny aesthetic. The blue background is contrasted by orange and white elements that provide excellent readability of the complications both at day and night.
1858 Geosphere
An icon of the 1858 line with its two distinctive domed hemisphere globes, its 42 mm grade-5 titanium case is topped by a fluted, bi-directional stainless-steel bezel, enhanced with a shiny blue ceramic. The dial comes in a smoky blue colour that is combined with icy white elements. To enhance readability at night, the day-night indicator, the cathedral-shaped hands, the indexes, the compass indications and the hemisphere globes are all coated with white SuperLumiNova.
