As the Dakar rally raid’s official timekeeper since 2019, Rebellion Timepieces has unveiled a range of exclusive timepieces each year celebrating the spirit of the ultimate endurance race. This year, we have two 15-piece limited-edition watches that were unveiled a few hours before the 46th-Dakar kicked off in Saudi Arabia.
Predator 2.0 3 Hands Dakar 2024
This timepiece features a honeycomb-patterned on its dial, and oversized-sized numerals 9 and 12 in a sandy shade. This same vibrant colour also graces the stylized markers, the date aperture and the trio of hour, minute and second hands, as well as the minute tracker running round the flange.
This gold-on-black composition, bedecked with the Dakar logo nestles in a 48mm carbon fibre case. This composite material, which is 75% lighter than steel and 10 times more resistant, accentuates a watch’s character with its striated pattern. Carbon has become integral to Rebellion Timepieces’ stylistic signature. The case is waterproof to depths of 50 metres.
To complement the watch’s sporty look, this edition comes complete with a Cordura textile strap, whose colour matches the tones that fashion Dakar’s desert panoramas. The watch’s time and date indications are driven by a self-winding movement featuring a honeycomb-forged oscillating weight that is visible through the Dakar logo-decorated sapphire-crystal caseback. The movement has a power reserve of 48 hours when the timepiece isn’t being worn.
Predator Chrono Dakar 2024
This piece has a black DLC-dressed dial, also featuring the honeycomb-mesh design in warm sandy desert hues. The chronograph counters and sequential small seconds set off with dashes of red, adding a dynamic element to the dial’s scenography. The Super-LumiNova-topped golden hands and markers inspired by instruments in the cockpit of a Dakar racer.
The 48 mm-diameter case is a combination of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated titanium and multi-layer, resin-coated carbon fibre. The sculptural case is protected by a bezel also crafted in carbon featuring a random pattern. This edition also comes complete with a Cordura textile strap whose colour mimics the tones of the desert. The self-winding movement, featuring the signature honeycomb-forged oscillating weight, has a power reserve of 48 hours and is visible through the iconic Dakar logo-decorated sapphire-crystal caseback.
