Geneva, June 2025 — A new chapter in horological excellence begins with the arrival of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller, a timepiece that merges groundbreaking innovation with timeless aesthetics. Offered in 36 mm and 40 mm variations, this newly introduced model embodies Rolex’s continued mastery of watchmaking, presenting a striking blend of refined design, proprietary technology, and elevated everyday performance. With 32 patents, including 18 exclusive to this model, the Land-Dweller stands as a bold statement in the Rolex legacy — a watch for those who shape the present and stride confidently into the future.

A Design Revolution: The Flat Jubilee and Integrated Aesthetics

The Land-Dweller redefines the concept of integrated design with the debut of the Flat Jubilee bracelet. A modern evolution of the classic Jubilee bracelet from 1945, this version introduces flat, polished centre links, chamfered edges, and an entirely new attachment system — a feat protected by patent. The bracelet and case form a seamless visual ribbon, underscoring Rolex’s expertise in sculptural, ergonomic craftsmanship. This new system includes ceramic inserts to reduce wear and increase longevity, while the concealed Crownclasp adds refined elegance.

Framing the reimagined Oyster case is a fluted or diamond-set bezel, depending on the model. Beveled edges and polished surfaces flow from the lugs into the bracelet links, creating an uninterrupted play of light. It’s a silhouette of precision and presence — both urban and adventurous.

Dial as Canvas: The Honeycomb Motif and Exclusive Display

The Land-Dweller’s dial is not merely an interface but a sculpted work of art. Rendered in a three-dimensional honeycomb motif, its creation calls upon high-tech techniques such as femtosecond laser etching and traditional satin or sunray finishing. The result is a dial that mesmerizes under shifting light, available in intense white or the signature Rolex ice blue reserved for platinum models.

New open-centre numerals at 6 and 9 are inspired by the Explorer and Air-King, and a patented luminescent application ensures readability in all conditions. Every detail — from the rectilinear hands to the cell-shaped seconds counterweight — has been specially created for the Land-Dweller.

Three Distinct Interpretations of Excellence

  • Land-Dweller 40 in White Rolesor: Combining Oystersteel and white gold, with a fluted bezel and intense white dial.
  • Land-Dweller 36 in Everose Gold: Adorned with 10 baguette-cut diamond hour markers and a bezel set with 44 trapeze-cut diamonds.
  • Land-Dweller 40 in Platinum: Featuring a fluted bezel and an ice-blue sunray dial, an emblem of prestige and rarity.

Each model reflects a different mood — classic, ornate, or commanding — while unified by Rolex’s uncompromising standards.

Inside the Engine Room: Calibre 7135 and the Dynapulse Revolution

At the heart of the Land-Dweller beats the Calibre 7135, a new-generation 5 Hz movement delivering chronometric precision down to 1/10th of a second. Derived from the calibre 7140, it features a 66-hour power reserve and the introduction of the Dynapulse escapement, a patented system that optimizes energy transmission by rolling (not sliding) motion, reducing energy loss and friction.

Other innovations include:

  • Ceramic balance staff for magnetic resistance
  • Brass balance wheel paired with a reshaped Syloxi hairspring
  • Enhanced Paraflex shock absorbers for reliability in all positions

With these features, calibre 7135 ensures that the Land-Dweller performs at the highest levels of accuracy, durability, and finesse.

Superlative Performance Guaranteed

As with all Rolex watches, the Land-Dweller carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, guaranteeing precision of ?2/+2 seconds per day — twice as exacting as COSC standards. Each timepiece is backed by a five-year international guarantee and marked with Rolex’s symbolic green seal.

More Than a Watch: A Statement of Purpose

The Rolex Land-Dweller is not merely a technical marvel; it’s a symbol of alignment between man, time, and terrain. Whether navigating the bustle of the city or venturing into unspoiled wilderness, the Land-Dweller expresses Rolex’s dedication to shaping timepieces that go beyond measurement — into meaning, movement, and mastery.

With its innovative calibre, architectural design, and unmistakable identity, the Land-Dweller represents not just a new Rolex — but a new standard.
