Audemars Piguet pays tribute to one of its most legendary watch dial hues with the release of the limited-edition Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 capsule collection. Honouring the 50-year legacy of the Royal Oak’s signature blue dial, this collection reimagines the colour that forever changed the world of luxury sports watches, featuring a curated selection of timepieces from both the Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore lines.

First introduced in 1972, the Royal Oak defied convention with its bold octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet, but what truly set it apart was the now-iconic “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” dial. Achieved through an alchemical combination of galvanic treatment and creative coding, the rich, deep blue became a calling card for Audemars Piguet’s avant-garde spirit and horological innovation. Fifty years on, this legendary shade remains as relevant and captivating as ever.

The Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 capsule collection includes seven exclusive Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore references, all featuring the signature dial colour in combination with new materials and refined finishes. This vibrant tribute to the original reinforces Audemars Piguet’s mastery in blending heritage with contemporary design.

From the timeless elegance of the Royal Oak Selfwinding 37 mm in 18-carat pink gold, to the technical boldness of the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 43 mm crafted in titanium, each model reinterprets the iconic blue through its own lens. Across the collection, details such as the signature “Tapisserie” dials—grande or mega—are executed in rich gradients of blue, offering new dimensions to the original hue.

What sets these pieces apart isn’t just the dial’s historical significance, but the evolution of craftsmanship it represents. Whether it’s the play of light on the brushed metal, the precision of the integrated chronograph pushers, or the subtle contrast of blue ceramic bezel inserts, each element tells a story of bold innovation grounded in legacy.

This capsule drop is not only a celebration of an emblematic colour—it’s a reaffirmation of Audemars Piguet’s position at the forefront of Swiss watchmaking. While other brands may revisit past icons, Audemars Piguet continues to reimagine its legacy in bold, forward-facing ways.

For collectors, connoisseurs, and lovers of design, the Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 collection is more than a nod to history—it’s a rare opportunity to own a piece of horological evolution, cast in the colour that started it all.
