Limited to 8 pieces each, the Black Hole Rose Gold and Arabic Numerals editions present two distinct expressions of avant-garde design, introduced at Dubai Watch Week 2025.

Vanguart continues to redefine the visual and mechanical language of contemporary haute horlogerie with the unveiling of two new Black Hole models during Dubai Watch Week 2025. The Black Hole Arabic Numerals and Black Hole Rose Gold editions mark a significant evolution of the collection—one rooted in technical audacity, cultural nuance, and sculptural design.

Both timepieces remain faithful to the Black Hole’s core philosophy: to challenge traditional notions of how time is displayed, perceived, and experienced, while pushing the boundaries of independent Swiss watchmaking.

A Legacy Expressed in Form

Founded in 2017, Vanguart has quickly established itself as a disruptive force within haute horlogerie. Developed and hand-finished in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the brand’s creations are known for their architectural presence, kinetic dials, and uncompromising mechanical complexity. The Black Hole, first introduced in 2021, has become a defining expression of this vision—part timepiece, part mechanical sculpture.

The Black Hole Arabic Numerals: A Cultural First

The Black Hole Arabic Numerals edition marks a pioneering moment for the collection, introducing Arabic numerals for the first time. Far from a decorative gesture, the numerals are fully integrated into the watch’s linear time display, offering a culturally resonant yet technically consistent evolution of the Black Hole concept.

Encased in grade 5 titanium, the watch retains the original model’s levitating flying tourbillon and concentric three-tier automaton dial. Hand-painted indications and an anthracite PVD-treated titanium dial add depth and contrast, while a joystick-based time-setting system allows precise forward and reverse adjustments.

Limited to 8 pieces, the Black Hole Arabic Numerals edition is priced at CHF 355,000.

The Black Hole Rose Gold: Time Without a Face

The Black Hole Rose Gold edition represents a bold departure within the collection, ushering in what Vanguart describes as a new faceless generation. Encased in rose gold, the watch eliminates conventional visual cues, instead relying on light, reflection, and depth to convey the passage of time.

The result is a watch that prioritises sensation over legibility—time felt rather than read. Polished and microblasted surfaces interact dynamically, creating a sculptural presence that shifts with movement and light. Beneath this refined exterior lies the same in-house levitating flying tourbillon architecture, composed of 775 components and delivering 42 hours of power reserve.

Also limited to 8 pieces, the Black Hole Rose Gold edition is priced at CHF 410,000.

Engineering as Performance Art

Both models are powered by Vanguart’s in-house movement, constructed primarily from grade 5 titanium and finished using a combination of microblasting, satin-finishing, block-polishing, and hand-beveling. The vertical power reserve indicator, linear time display, and levitating tourbillon transform mechanical complexity into visual theatre—an approach that has become central to the brand’s identity.

Despite their imposing dimensions—45mm diagonally—the lugless case design allows each watch to wear closer to a 42mm, ensuring presence without excess.

For the Discerning Collector

Produced in extremely limited numbers and defined by a distinctive design language, these new references speak directly to collectors who value rarity, innovation, and conceptual depth over familiarity.

As Dubai Watch Week 2025 highlights the future of fine watchmaking, Vanguart’s latest creations stand as a reminder that true luxury often lies beyond the expected.
