Nyon, Switzerland, November 11, 2024 – Pride and exhilaration ripple across Switzerland as Swiss sailor Alan Roura and luxury watchmaker Hublot gear up for the Vendée Globe, the world’s most challenging solo sailing race. Set to launch his third attempt at this renowned endurance race, Roura stands ready to represent Switzerland on a global stage, backed by Hublot and millions of supporters.

The Vendée Globe – The “Everest of the Seas”

Dubbed the “Everest of the Seas,” the Vendée Globe tests sailors in an unparalleled solo, non-stop, around-the-world challenge. On November 10, Alan Roura will join the elite lineup of competitors in this extreme event, piloting the IMOCA Hublot from the port of Les Sables d’Olonne, France. This year’s race is set against a backdrop of fervent enthusiasm, with over 2.5 million fans converging to support sailors like Roura as they face down this formidable 45,000-kilometer course.

A Fusion of Precision and Passion: Hublot and Alan Roura

For Hublot, whose innovative DNA is tied to maritime culture, this partnership with Roura aligns seamlessly. “Ocean racing technology evolves as rapidly as our R&D,” says Hublot CEO Julien Tornare. “Alan’s spirit and our passion for breaking boundaries make this partnership a natural fit. Together, we’re pushing the limits of innovation and endurance.” Roura, now a seasoned Vendée Globe competitor, resonates with this relentless drive to push the boundaries of possibility. Wearing Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Sailing Team watch, Roura represents the peak of Swiss precision and performance, embodying both brands’ commitment to excellence.

A Monumental Journey for the Swiss People

As the race kicks off, Roura embarks on what he calls “a fantastic human adventure.” Overcoming challenges posed by the world’s fiercest seas, he aims to demonstrate Switzerland’s resilience, dedication, and unyielding spirit. “I want to share my journey with my team, my partners, and everyone in Switzerland who stands with me,” he says, inspired by the sense of national pride and unity that drives him forward.

About Hublot: Innovating Beyond Limits

Founded in 1980, Hublot is celebrated for its groundbreaking “Art of Fusion” concept, blending tradition with forward-thinking design. Known for pushing material and technical boundaries, Hublot’s innovative collections, like the Big Bang, Classic Fusion, and Spirit of Big Bang, continue to redefine luxury watchmaking. Their involvement with sports, art, and global events, including joint environmental projects, showcases Hublot’s commitment to creating a lasting impact.

As Alan Roura and Hublot embark on the Vendée Globe, they unite passion, precision, and a nation’s spirit, sailing boldly into the unknown and inspiring fans worldwide.
