Watches & Wonders Geneva 2023 – expected to be the largest gathering of watch enthusiasts ever to take place in the city – is set to commence tomorrow, March 27, and run until April 2. The 48 exhibiting maisons include some of the industry’s key players, such as Jaeger-LeCoultre, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Chanel, Roger Dubuis, and Rolex. As always, this year’s event will showcase exquisite craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology and timeless elegance.
Even though the first few days of the exhibition will be exclusive to press, retailers, and guests of the exhibiting maisons, the heart of Geneva will embody the essence of watchmaking for the entire week. The city has organised a dedicated program for the general public based on the theme of watchmaking.
Across the city, various activities will take place from Monday, March 27 to Saturday, April 1, as part of the intense program that includes watch boutiques, guided visits, a rally and conferences. From discussions on the role of the WEB3 and metaverse in connecting a traditional industry to the potential for starting a vintage watch collection, there should be something for everyone.
The Boutique Animations is a dedicated space where exhibiting maisons will highlight their exceptional creations and pieces, their craftsmanship, and their know-how. The Watchmaking rally will invite enthusiasts to discover the watchmakers’ boutiques and cultural sites.
Visitors using their mobile phones can access QR codes dotted along the way, and will have to piece together the word ‘Watches and Wonders,’ the secret code that will allow them to enter the prize draw. Ten winners will receive two tickets for the Salon during the weekend, including meals.
Guided tours and visits will take visitors to Geneva city centre, Patek Philippe Museum, and will cover the city’s illustrious watchmaking past. On March 30 from 5 to 9 pm, visitors can enjoy an evening of street festivities, where Watches and Wonders will be taking over the Rue Basses, from the Pont de la Machine to the Place Longemalle, passing by the major watch brand boutiques and stores in Rue du Rhône. The final entertainment of the evening will take place on Quai Général Guisan.
