H. Moser & Cie. x Alpine Motorsports: the Future of Timekeeping and Speed

In a world where co-branded collaborations often remain surface-level, the partnership between H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Motorsports is refreshingly different—deeply technical, daringly authentic, and grounded in shared values of precision, innovation, and relentless performance. To mark this visionary collaboration, the Swiss Haute Horlogerie maison unveils two new limited-edition timepieces that go far beyond aesthetic flourishes. The Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition and the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition are thoughtfully engineered instruments of time—one mechanical, one digital—designed not just to impress, but to serve.

Born from direct conversations with Alpine’s F1 drivers, the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition is an open-worked masterpiece that reflects the internal engineering of a Formula 1 car. Built around the revered HMC 700 calibre, developed with Agenhor and presented here in a skeletonised format for the first time, the movement is a mechanical feat. With no subdials and a central chronograph display, this flyback chronograph delivers pure racing functionality with legibility and minimalism at its core.

Every element of the watch pays tribute to racing: V-shaped bridges echoing suspension arms, a skeletonised rotor inspired by Alpine’s A110 wheel rims, and a central bridge sculpted in the shape of a driver’s helmet. The 42.3mm steel case features a striking blue PVD finish and houses a double-barrel movement with a 72-hour power reserve, resting on an integrated white rubber strap. It’s as much a tribute to high-speed precision as it is to collaborative design done right.

The Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition breaks new ground—literally. Created not for fans or collectors, but for the engineers and mechanics behind Alpine’s F1 and Endurance teams, it is the first watch developed specifically to support real-time motorsports operations. Designed in close cooperation with the team, it is a fully functional race companion that merges tactile tradition with smart technology.

Its discreet sapphire display remains dark until activated, revealing a high-performance digital suite that includes a split-seconds chronograph, perpetual calendar, world time with country selector, and a dedicated “F1 mode” featuring race countdowns and alerts. Even in digital form, Moser honours its watchmaking roots with a small Funky Blue fumé dial at 12 o’clock, anchored within a 42.6mm steel case and paired with a blue rubber strap. With a one-year battery life in time-only mode and Bluetooth synchronisation, this connected piece is built to endure the rigours of motorsports without sacrificing craftsmanship.

Together, these two watches signify the opening chapter in a multi-year partnership that is as much about endurance as it is about innovation. Sold together in a limited collector’s case of 200 sets, the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition and Mechanics Edition reflect a shared ethos—where performance meets precision, and vision meets execution. Owners of the 2024 Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine can also access the Mechanics Edition individually, offering continuity for existing Moser connoisseurs.

In both concept and execution, this collaboration between H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine isn’t just another pit stop in luxury watchmaking. It’s a bold acceleration into the future of horology—driven by purpose, engineered for excellence.

As with all of H. Moser & Cie.’s creations, the attention to materiality and finish is uncompromising. The Drivers Edition’s anthracite bridges, Moser-striped decoration, and domed sapphire crystal reflect the maison’s dedication to blending contemporary aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship. Its bi-directional rotor and column-wheel chronograph system are engineered not only for precision but for durability under pressure—a trait as essential on the track as it is on the wrist.

What elevates the Mechanics Edition beyond its digital peers is the deliberate rejection of mass-market tech aesthetics. This is not a smartwatch for the masses—it is a mission-specific tool for a precision-first environment. Every function, from the F1-mode alerts to the one-year standby reserve, is designed to streamline communication and decision-making for pit crews and engineers. It proves that digital horology, when done with purpose, can uphold the same values as traditional watchmaking: integrity, ingenuity, and craftsmanship.

In an era where collaborations often amount to little more than co-branding exercises, the H. Moser & Cie. x Alpine Motorsports alliance stands apart. It doesn’t just borrow the language of motorsport—it speaks it fluently. These timepieces are not symbolic gestures, but tangible tools shaped by shared expertise. Whether you’re tracking tenths of a second on the tarmac or appreciating the poetic rhythm of a flyback movement, this collection exemplifies what it means to push boundaries together—with soul, precision, and style.
