The Leela Palace Chennai Showcases India’s Living Legacy in New Brand Film with Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash

In the hushed grandeur of The Leela Palace Chennai, music and memory meet in a quietly powerful new brand film that transcends mere promotion to become a work of art in its own right. The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has brought together acclaimed sarod maestros Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash for a cinematic ode to Indian legacy, capturing how heritage breathes not only in architecture and tradition but in the everyday gestures of hospitality.

Set amid the palace’s stately colonnades and serene courtyards, the film follows the brothers as they move through spaces that seem to echo with the discipline, grace, and reverence of their own musical lineage. A sunlit rehearsal in the courtyard becomes as evocative as the ornate detailing of the building; a quiet exchange over a meal at Jamavar is imbued with the same care as the palace’s famed welcome. Every frame holds the tension and harmony between past and present—a dialogue that mirrors India’s own cultural evolution.

For Ayaan, the experience felt deeply personal. “This was not just a film. It felt like a homecoming,” he reflects, recalling how the atmosphere of The Leela Palace Chennai transported him back to the spaces of his childhood—places alive with warmth, discipline, and artistry. Amaan draws a parallel between their music and the Leela ethos: “The act of arriving and being received with such intention… it resonates with the way we approach our music. Every note, every gesture must have meaning. The Leela understands that.”

That understanding is at the heart of the brand’s philosophy. “True luxury is not static—it lives, it evolves, and it draws its strength from legacy,” says Anjali Mehra, Executive Vice President – Brand and Communications at The Leela. “This film is a tribute to that very idea. Amaan and Ayaan bring not just their music, but their philosophy of life into our space. And what emerges is a deeply Indian story—quiet, powerful, and timeless.”

The result is a narrative that feels less like a commercial and more like an elegy—a meditation on what it means to carry heritage forward with grace. The interplay between the brothers’ music and the palace’s spaces creates a rhythm that is as visual as it is auditory, allowing the viewer to feel both the precision of craft and the softness of welcome.

Beyond the artistry, the project reinforces The Leela’s commitment to telling stories that celebrate India’s cultural capital in ways that resonate globally. This is not a brand borrowing culture as a backdrop; it is a custodian of heritage using its platform to amplify voices and traditions that have shaped the country’s identity.

The film’s release spans digital platforms, social channels, and paid media across India, the GCC, the US, the UK, and Russia—marking a deliberate push to share this story with a worldwide audience. A series of shorter edits will further extend its reach, offering glimpses of the full narrative to those who encounter it online.
