In a tribute to the enduring spirit of lunar exploration, OMEGA unveils the next evolution of its legendary Speedmaster Dark and Grey Side of the Moon collection. Marking a bold new chapter in the brand’s space-inspired legacy, the seven new models merge technical mastery with aesthetic sophistication, reinforcing OMEGA’s pioneering vision of modern horology.
The collection’s inspiration traces back to 1968, when the Apollo 8 mission became the first human flight to orbit the moon. As astronaut Jim Lovell’s words — “We’ll see you on the other side” — echoed through mission control before radio silence, each crew member wore an OMEGA Speedmaster, sealing its place in space history. Decades later, the same fearless innovation that journeyed to the Moon now powers OMEGA’s new ceramic timepieces, reimagined for the modern collector.

These latest creations mark twelve years since the Dark Side of the Moon first captivated watch enthusiasts. Continuing from the Apollo 8’s Master Chronometer certification, the new models reflect OMEGA’s dedication to both heritage and progress. Each design embodies refined architecture, slimmer proportions, and advanced Co-Axial calibres, the result of four years of research and development in ceramic construction and movement evolution.
At the heart of this evolution lies OMEGA’s unmatched mastery of ceramic craftsmanship. Each timepiece showcases a newly developed bevelled polished ceramic process that enhances depth and brilliance, paired with Liquidmetal™ technology for exceptional resilience. The innovative two-layer ceramic dial structure, laser-brushed to catch light in subtle, shifting tones, adds visual intrigue to every surface — a reflection of OMEGA’s pursuit of mechanical artistry.

Among the standout models, the Black Edition Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9908 introduces a new manual-winding movement with a bold red chronograph hand and matte grey detailing. Another edition revisits the original Dark Side of the Moon design with sleeker contours and enhanced legibility, while the Apollo 8 Tribute pays homage to the astronauts’ first glimpse of the lunar far side. Its movement, laser-engraved with the Moon’s near and far surfaces, transforms the watch into a miniature celestial landscape powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869.
Adding to the innovation, OMEGA introduces new strap designs that blend comfort with storytelling. Rubber straps now feature a lunar surface motif on the reverse side, creating a tactile link to space exploration, while nylon straps with rubber lining deliver both durability and luxury in equal measure.

More than a collection, the new Speedmaster Dark and Grey Side of the Moon represents OMEGA’s fusion of history, craftsmanship, and the human quest for discovery. From the first steps on lunar soil to the ongoing evolution of ceramic watchmaking, OMEGA continues to craft not just watches, but symbols of endurance, innovation, and the timeless pursuit of the extraordinary.
