Chronomètre FB 3SPC Seddiqi Edition: A Platinum Tribute to 75 Years of Legacy

To mark the 75th anniversary of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, one of the Middle East’s most respected watch retailers, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud has unveiled an exceptionally rare tribute: a three-piece platinum edition of the Chronomètre FB 3SPC. More than a commemorative release, this creation represents the enduring partnership between two maisons defined by heritage, precision, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.

This exclusive Seddiqi Edition arrives at a symbolic moment. Released during Dubai Watch Week 2025, the timepiece underscores a relationship that began long before the world took notice of Berthoud’s modern revival. Seddiqi was among the earliest supporters of the Fleurier workshop, and this anniversary edition highlights the shared milestones of both houses—75 years for Seddiqi, and a decade of renaissance for the Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud brand.

Crafted in platinum and limited to just three numbered pieces, the FB 3SPC.3-4 Seddiqi Edition amplifies the unique character of the original model with new finishes and a refined aesthetic. Its 42.3 mm PT-950 case is paired with a black lacquered peripheral inner-bezel ring engraved and gilded for a striking contrast. The champagne-toned sandblasted movement bridges elevate the visual architecture, while yellow gold hands ensure exceptional legibility—a harmonious blend of sophistication and mechanical intent.

At its heart lies the celebrated calibre FB-SPC, the world’s first chronometer-certified wristwatch using a cylindrical balance spring paired with a variable-inertia balance. Inspired by an 18th-century decimal timepiece created by Louis Berthoud, the movement proudly showcases its regulating organ at 9 o’clock, offering collectors a clear view of its cylindrical hairspring breathing rhythmically through the platinum porthole. The architecture remains a masterclass in transparency, depth, and mechanical truth.

The Seddiqi Edition also introduces an exclusive caseback design. The sapphire crystal is engraved with the custom 75th-anniversary insignia of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons—a detail reserved exclusively for this tribute series. It stands as a symbol of partnership but also of continuity: the past honoured, the present celebrated, and the future of fine watchmaking upheld.
