Between September 19 and 23 of this year, the Port Adriano marina in Mallorca will host the third edition of the Mallorca Classic Week, an event that combines the best in classic cars, motorcycles and yachts with scenic routes and excellent gastronomy.
After the massive success of last year, this year’s edition promises to further consolidate Mallorca as a fixture on the international calendar of unmissable events with a higher number of collectors and motor aficionados from around the world expected to converge on Port Adriano.
Motors confirmed for this year’s edition include the BMW 3200 Michelotti Vignale, a one-off prototype unveiled at the 1959 Turin Auto Show, formerly owned by the Earl of Chichester and now in the BMW Group Classic Collection; a spectacular supercharged 1929 Bentley Blower, and a 1950 Mercedes Benz 170 S, winner of the 2016 competition.
The Motorworld Group will showcase the development of the automobile from the first motor car 1885 by Carl Benz to the high-tech Mercedes AMG GT3 racecar. Both cars will lead the parade.
There will be an award for Mallorca’s Best Classic Car, in addition to prizes in a range of categories.
Thursday and Friday, 20 and 21 September, are given over to the Pleasure Drive Programme, which takes the vintage cars through a series of routes designed to showcase the beauty of Mallorca by driving through some of the most stunning landscapes in the Mediterranean. Saturday is all glamour and sophistication as Spain’s most exclusive Concours d’Elegance takes place where classic cars and yachts are the stars of the show. Also featuring that day will be an American Car zone with music, food trucks and a lot of glitz.
On Sunday morning, the show takes to the road again, as classic cars rev their engines for the Mallorca Sight Seeing Drive and the Crime Drive, two events in which participants will follow a series of clues devised by detective Nick Nickerbocker around some of the island’s most iconic locations.
The Philippe Starck-designed Port Adriano is located in the south-east of Mallorca, just 20 km from Palma. It is one of the most modern and best-equipped marinas on the Mediterranean capable of berthing boat sizes from 6 metres to 100 metres. It presents an innovative concept in both the aesthetic aspects of the marina and the comfort it offers to customers and visitors. In addition to a fabulous selection of restaurants and boutiques, Port Adriano also hosts a range of cultural and leisure activities all year around.
