Audi Sport introduces the new Audi RS 5, marking a significant milestone as the brand’s first high-performance plug-in hybrid model. Combining RS heritage with advanced electrified engineering, the model delivers exceptional performance while offering greater efficiency and everyday usability. Designed to perform equally well on winding mountain roads, long highway drives, or city commutes, the new RS 5 represents a modern interpretation of Audi’s high-performance philosophy.

At the heart of the new RS 5 is a powerful hybrid powertrain pairing a refined 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor. Together they generate a combined system output of 470 kW, delivering exhilarating acceleration and dynamic driving characteristics. The electrified setup also allows the car to operate purely on electric power for everyday urban driving, adding an efficient dimension to its performance-focused engineering.

One of the model’s defining innovations is the introduction of quattro with Dynamic Torque Control. This advanced system enables electromechanical torque vectoring at the rear axle, a world-first technology in a production vehicle. By distributing torque precisely between the rear wheels in milliseconds, the system enhances agility, traction, and stability while delivering the engaging driving experience expected from an RS model.

The driving dynamics are further refined through RS-specific suspension tuning and a new chassis architecture designed to handle both electric and combustion power seamlessly. Twin-valve shock absorbers allow independent control of compression and rebound, enabling a balance between sporty responsiveness and everyday comfort. Large performance wheels, RS-tuned steering, and powerful braking systems contribute to the car’s confident road presence.

Visually, the new RS 5 reflects its performance character through a muscular design language. The widened bodywork, bold honeycomb Singleframe grille, and sculpted wheel arches create a commanding stance. Darkened Matrix LED headlights and aerodynamic elements emphasize the model’s motorsport DNA, while the rear diffuser and distinctive RS exhaust system complete the athletic silhouette.
