Imagine a luxury duplex-villa nearly twenty storeys up, offering stunning uninterrupted sea views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The atrium stairway looks out over the sea-facing terrace and is illuminated by a two-storeyed high window. The private three-foot-deep plunge pool invites one to take a dip while the lounge furniture invites one to sit back and enjoy the sea breeze while basking in the sun or the moonlight.
Edge Villa is not part of a new waterfront development, but one of the most exclusive accommodations offered on the soon to be launched Celebrity Edge cruise ship which is set to revolutionize the concept of luxury cruising.
It offers several new features designed to make the onboard experience more immersive than ever before; starting with the outward-facing layout that breaks from traditional ship design to make the guests feel more connected with the sea. Its three-storeyed shared venue is inspired by the piazzas of Italy, the entertainment is immersive, the resort deck is multi-layered and asymmetrical, and the roof-top garden is magical. Celebrity Edge also sets a new benchmark for luxury accommodation at sea.
The six, 950 square feet, Edge Villas are the first of their kind in the fleet and are designed to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living space for an open and airy environment. The most luxurious and the most spacious accommodation on the Ship, however, is the Iconic Suite. With over 2,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, it is positioned high above the bridge and offers panoramic views from front to back.
The Penthouse Suite has two bedrooms, a private hot tub, a terrace, and an attentive butler on hand. The Royal Suites and Celebrity Suites also have two bedrooms with a spacious living and dining area, and a large soaking tub. These Suites can be connected to accommodate a large family or a group of friends.
The most fascinating aspect of Celebrity Edge is the Magic Carpet, the world’s first cantilevered venue at sea that can travel 13 storeys. It transforms into a different venue depending on which deck it is positioned on. When on the top deck, it becomes the ultimate speciality restaurant in the sky offering a “Dinner on the Edge” experience.
Eden is an exceptional event space spread over three levels with a total area of 11,800 square feet. It is completely wrapped in glass, and its nature is so prevalent that it has been dubbed “a room that lives.”
Celebrity Edge’s maiden voyage is scheduled for December 9, 2018, a seven-night Caribbean voyage round-trip from Fort Lauderdale.
