In a rare culinary escape that blends the mystique of nature with refined plant-based cuisine, Meliá Desert Palm introduces Shroomotopía: A Journey through the Inner Forest—an immersive supper club hosted by acclaimed Venezuelan chef Kiki Alvarez. Taking place on the evening of Thursday, May 29th, within the verdant sanctuary of the Epicure restaurant, this one-of-a-kind event invites diners to explore the transformative power of mushrooms through a six-course tasting menu rooted in heritage, earth, and wellness.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of the estate’s infinity pool and expansive polo grounds, Shroomotopía is a sensorial tribute to the fungal kingdom’s ancestral significance and culinary potential. Chef Kiki, previously of Coya and Seva Table, leads guests on a nourishing journey where fermentation, smoke, and umami converge in artistic expressions of seasonal produce. Each dish evokes a feeling, memory, or instinctive connection—from the Portobello Pastrami with smoky aioli to the tangy freshness of an Oyster Mushroom Ceviche and the sweet finale of Reishi Tres Leches.

Priced at AED 333 per person (non-alcohol pairing) and AED 444 per person (with wine pairing), the evening promises more than a meal—it’s a holistic immersion into flavour and storytelling. With its emphasis on sustainable luxury and soulful gastronomy, Meliá Desert Palm continues to redefine Dubai’s culinary scene by celebrating creativity, wellbeing, and the natural world in perfect harmony.

Guests attending Shroomotopía will also be treated to the lush surroundings of Meliá Desert Palm, a hidden gem just 20 minutes from downtown Dubai that feels a world away from the city’s bustle. Surrounded by swaying palms and polo fields, the venue enhances the sensory experience with its peaceful, nature-integrated setting, reflecting the grounding and restorative qualities of mushrooms themselves.
