Montblanc Haus – a space dedicated to “inspire writing” within the luxury Maison’s Hamburg headquarters – was the venue for the global launch of the latest chapter in the partnership between Montblanc and Ferrari. The new Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 Limited Edition 599 writing instrument is not just limited in terms of numbers, but also because it is only offered by special arrangement.
The event brought together VIP guests and international media for a first look at a new generation of writing instruments, co-designed under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari’s Chief Design Officer.
To make the occasion even more exclusive, the Ferrari Daytona SP3, the latest addition to the automotive marque’s Icona series, was on display at the Montblanc Haus entrance for one night only. Guests admire the car’s distinctive design features that inspired the creation of the new Stilema SP3 writing instrument.
Following cocktails and an immersion into the world of Montblanc writing culture, Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzki and Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna were joined by Ferrari Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni and Montblanc Director of Writing Culture Alessandra Elia to formally unveil the writing instruments to guests. Guests were served dinner by Michelin-starred chef Heinz Otto Wehmann and entertainment by the Italian-style jazz ensemble Four on Six.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the new Stilema SP3, possessing the unmistakable Ferrari-style lexicon to create a new shape for the Montblanc writing instrument. Manufactured in light titanium, it expresses the car’s fluid shape and signature design details. While the outside design is distinctly Ferrari, the ‘engine’ of the pen is Montblanc, with its handcrafted Au 750 solid white gold nib. It debuts a newly positioned hidden filling mechanism which compliments the writing instrument’s sleek silhouette.
The Stilema SP3 is the second writing instrument to be released under the collaboration of the two iconic luxury names. The first one being the Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Edition, a writing tribute to the great pioneer and visionary founder of the prestigious Ferrari automobile marque.
