Giambattista Valli, an Italian fashion designer whose collections are a part of the official Haute Couture calendar, paired up with the Maison Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie to enhance the creations he presented at his Haute Couture runway show on July 2nd at the Pavillon Gabriel in Paris. It was a collaboration that Chopard co-president and artistic director, Caroline Scheufele, being a keen admirer of Giambattista Valli’s talent, couldn’t decline.

The Chopard Haute Joaillerie models selected by Giambattista Valli include several exceptional creations.

Having fallen under the spell of a set of incredibly rare 17 non-oil Colombian emeralds, ardent gem-lover Caroline Scheufele designed a stunning necklace alternating these emeralds with equally pure D-flawless diamonds – the largest of which is an over 20-carat pear-shaped gem. This collection piece testifies to Chopard’s and its artistic director’s devotion to rare stones.

1. Necklace in 18ct white gold set with pear-shaped and marquise-cut diamonds and brilliants. 2. Necklace in 18ct white gold set with round brilliant-cut diamonds for a total of 50cts. 3. Long necklace in 18ct white gold set with ashoka-cut diamonds (72cts) and brilliants.
1. Necklace in 18ct white gold set with an octagonal step-cut emerald of 22cts and pear-shaped diamonds (61cts) 2. Necklace in 18ct white gold set with pear-shaped (23cts) and round brilliant-cut diamonds (17cts) and brilliants. 3. Long necklace in 18ct white gold set with ashoka-cut diamonds for a total of 43cts.
Necklace in 18ct white gold set with heart-shaped and pear-shaped emeralds for a total of 42cts, round-shaped (12cts), marquise-cut (10cts) and pear-shaped diamonds (18 cts).
Earrings in 18ct white gold set with two cushion-shaped diamonds (17cts) and brilliants.

In the same majestic vein, one notes 18-carat white gold rings topped by splendid white and yellow diamonds, with light bouncing endless of their facets, like an enchanted kaleidoscope. Finally, emerald and diamond necklaces pay tribute to traditional gem-setting techniques, combining a dainty diamond lacework with exceptional emeralds.

This extraordinary collection epitomises the elegance and the goldsmithing expertise cultivated by Chopard. More than ever, it embodies peerless creativity and testifies to the Maison’s highly selective attitude towards choosing its precious stones.
