In an exciting venture, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts partners with Grosvenor to introduce their first UK hotel in London’s distinguished Mayfair district. Set to open in 2027, the Oberoi, Mayfair promises to offer an unmatched luxury experience with the signature service and sophisticated design synonymous with the Oberoi name. Located at 40-46 Brook Street, this new development will enhance Mayfair’s upscale hospitality landscape as part of South Molton’s revitalized mixed-use neighborhood.
A Prime Location for Unparalleled Luxury
The hotel’s site, a 33,000-square-foot listed building, is part of Grosvenor’s wider South Molton project—currently the West End’s largest mixed-use initiative. The development will feature two elite office buildings on Brook and Davies Streets, creating an exceptional opportunity for corporate headquarters in one of London’s most coveted areas. In addition to the luxury hotel, the South Molton complex will include upscale residential spaces, restaurants, shops, cafes, and public leisure zones, making it a premier destination for high-end living and working.
Grosvenor and Oberoi’s Shared Commitment to Excellence
Both Grosvenor and Oberoi share a vision for creating a destination of lasting impact and prestige. Rachel Dickie, Executive Director of Investment and Development at Grosvenor, commented on the significance of Oberoi’s choice, stating, “Confirming a brand as prestigious as Oberoi Hotels & Resorts will have its first UK presence at South Molton, in the heart of Mayfair, is what we mean when we say we are creating a destination of international significance. We are thrilled to have such a fantastic anchor for the project at this early stage of development.”
Echoing this sentiment, Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman of The Oberoi Group, emphasized the brand’s excitement about establishing roots in London. “Our partnership with Grosvenor marks an important milestone in our international growth,” Oberoi stated. “The Oberoi, Mayfair, will not only be a celebration of our brand at a prime location but also an opportunity to showcase our service excellence.”
Driving Economic Growth and Community Impact
Beyond its luxury appeal, the South Molton project is expected to drive economic growth, generating over 1,000 permanent jobs upon completion, with an additional 450 positions created during construction. The development will contribute approximately £6.5 million in annual spending to the local economy, cementing Mayfair’s status as a world-class destination.
Completion Timeline and Future Prospects
Construction for South Molton commenced in late 2023, with all phases slated for completion by 2027. The Oberoi, Mayfair is poised to become a crown jewel in this landmark project, setting a new standard for luxury hospitality in London and continuing Oberoi’s legacy of excellence and refined service.
