Emirates is revolutionizing in-flight dining with its exceptional vegan offerings, catering to the growing global demand for plant-based cuisine. From introducing innovative ingredients to crafting gourmet dishes, the airline showcases its commitment to culinary excellence and sustainability across all travel classes.

Innovation Meets Flavor in Vegan Cuisine

In celebration of Veganuary, Emirates’ talented chefs gathered at the Emirates Flight Catering Concept Development Kitchen to explore cutting-edge ingredients and create new dishes. Highlights include a solid egg substitute made entirely from legumes, featured in a spicy shakshuka, and savory vegan cannelloni crafted from premade vegan pastry sheets.

With an impressive selection of over 300 vegan recipes served on flights to 140 destinations, Emirates sources high-quality plant-based products from global suppliers. Ingredients include Beyond Meat’s plant-based proteins, pressed tofu from Japan’s Qian Ye, organic dark vegan chocolate by France’s Linnolat, and almond milk from Italy’s Koita. Emirates also integrates fresh, pesticide-free greens from Bustanica, the world’s largest hydroponic vertical farm, into its offerings.

Vegan Dining for All Ages

To ensure a delightful experience for its youngest passengers, Emirates now offers curated vegan children’s meals. Dishes like vegan pizza, vegetable fajitas, and sweet-and-sour vegetable casserole are paired with desserts such as vegan chocolate pudding and strawberry crumble, promising both nutrition and flavor.

Elevated Vegan Dining Across All Classes

Serving over 400,000 plant-based meals annually, Emirates offers exceptional vegan cuisine in every travel class.

  • Economy Class: Enjoy dishes like curried vegetable puffs or crêpes filled with sautéed carrots and peppers, paired with chocolate mousse cake or blackberry crumble.
  • Premium Economy Class: Indulge in braised mushrooms in five-spice soy sauce with jasmine rice, followed by raspberry tonka mousse cake.
  • Business Class: Relish Thai red curry tofu or tropical coconut pineapple cake.
  • First Class: Savor creamy polenta cake with thyme mushroom ragout or aubergine curry with charred rice and turmeric potato. Desserts include rhubarb strawberry charlotte and warm chocolate fondant with salted caramel sauce.

Vegan Delights at Dubai International Airport Lounges

Emirates’ flagship lounges at Dubai International Airport feature an array of vegan dishes. Favorites include soya and pea protein crispy pops, Baharat-spiced kofta in coconut gravy, and warm amaranth porridge with compressed green apples and walnuts. The signature Emirates Green Burger, made with soya and flaxseed, continues to be a crowd favorite.

With vegan meals available for pre-order across all classes and high-demand routes featuring plant-based dishes on their main menus, Emirates ensures its customers can enjoy flavorful, innovative, and sustainable vegan cuisine.
