Exaequo Melting Watch: A Surrealist Revival on Your Wrist

In celebration of the centenary of the Surrealist movement, Exaequo unveils its mesmerizing Melting Watch—an emblem of fluid time and dreamlike perception, designed for those who embrace uniqueness. More than a timepiece, it is a tribute to imagination and artistry, where the boundaries of conventional horology dissolve into shapes, textures, and forms inspired by the subconscious and fleeting moments of life. With asymmetrical lines, soft curves, and bold contrasts, the watch invites wearers to celebrate individuality through its avant-garde design.

The concept behind the Melting Watch is as compelling as its aesthetic: time, often seen as rigid and relentless, here becomes malleable, subjective, and open to interpretation. Exaequo draws on surrealist ideals that challenge reality, encourage introspection, and question the structures of society. This watch is a visual metaphor—fluid, fragmented, and ephemeral—reflecting life’s unpredictability and beauty, much like a dream that shifts with every thought.

Crafted with an oval case flattened at its center, the Melting Watch measures approximately 47mm in length and 28mm in width, offering a bold silhouette that stands apart from traditional designs. The rounded crown on the side ensures effortless time adjustment, while the case itself is available in satin-finished 316L stainless steel or with a luxurious PVD gold treatment, each capturing light and shadow with finesse.

Protected by a domed plastic crystal, the watch’s two-level dial is a symphony of texture and tone. Available in five captivating shades—blue, black, white, green, and gold—the dials feature Roman numerals and contrasting indices that harmonize with the sinuous case lines. Each colorway invites interpretation, whether it reflects the mystery of nightfall, the softness of dawn, or the richness of memory. Together, they create a surreal experience that feels both personal and universal.

On the reverse, the caseback secured by four screws allows for personalization while ensuring water resistance up to 30 meters. This thoughtful feature also simplifies maintenance, providing easy access to the quartz Ronda 751 movement. Exaequo’s commitment to craftsmanship ensures that the watch is both functional and adaptable—just as dreams are both intimate and expansive.

The straps, available in smooth leather for the steel version and crocodile-print leather for the golden variant, further enhance the watch’s elegance. Designed to complement the dial’s palette, each strap features tone-on-tone stitching and buckle clasps that echo the brand’s signature “hypersoft” style, offering comfort and refinement that mirrors the softness of skin and the fluidity of dreams.

Exaequo’s Melting Watch is a bold revival of surrealist aesthetics, offering an object of culture and identity for collectors, creatives, and those unafraid to stand apart. It is a timeless accessory that merges fashion with philosophy—inviting wearers to “Embrace Uniqueness” and celebrate the art of being unapologetically themselves.

As surrealism returns to wristwatches, Exaequo’s creations captivate not only with their striking form but with their invitation to question time, existence, and perception. The Melting Watch becomes a companion, a statement piece, and a conversation starter—allowing the wearer’s personality to unfold in every glance and every gesture.

For those seeking a timepiece that transcends conventional style and embraces bold expression, the Exaequo Melting Watch offers an experience that is as thought-provoking as it is visually stunning. It is an icon reimagined, a cult object brought to life, and a timeless reminder that beauty is found in fluidity, imagination, and the courage to be different.
