In celebration of the Chinese zodiac’s Year of the Snake, Hublot has unveiled the latest iteration of its iconic Spirit of Big Bang collection, the Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake, a limited edition of just 88 pieces. This remarkable timepiece, which continues the Swiss watchmaker’s tradition of honoring the Chinese New Year, brings together advanced technology, meticulous craftsmanship, and cultural symbolism in a singular expression of luxury and innovation.

A Tribute to the Serpent: Wisdom, Charm, and Transformation

The snake, a symbol of wisdom, transformation, and charm, holds a prominent place in the Chinese zodiac. Hublot’s creative vision interprets this revered creature with a modern and captivating twist, seamlessly blending the mystique of the snake with the bold design elements of the Spirit of Big Bang. The intricate details of the gold-plated snake, which wraps around the chronograph’s counters, are rendered with astounding precision through advanced laser technology. Its three-dimensional design breathes life into the timepiece, adding an air of intrigue and sophistication.

Artistry Meets Engineering Excellence

The striking gold snake motif extends beyond the dial to the case and strap, creating a seamless connection that celebrates Hublot’s unparalleled expertise in fusing tradition and innovation. The Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake features a black microblasted ceramic case that is as robust as it is elegant, housing the Hublot automatic skeleton chronograph calibre HUB4700. This high-frequency movement, a descendant of the historic El Primero calibre, provides a 50-hour power reserve and is visible from both the open dial and the sapphire caseback, allowing aficionados to admire the inner workings of this marvel.

The watch’s screwed ceramic bezel is engraved with snake scales, extending the theme of the serpent into the very structure of the watch, while the strap, made of black rubber, boasts a velvet finish and subtle shimmer, thanks to an innovative embossing technique. Hublot’s patented One-Click strap changing mechanism ensures effortless customization.

Unrivaled Design for the Discerning Collector

This limited-edition timepiece embodies the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. The Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake is not only a celebration of artistry but also a nod to Hublot’s legacy of technical excellence. The chronograph’s high-frequency movement is enhanced with a low-friction silicon escape wheel, a notable advancement from the original design of the El Primero.

The timepiece is encased in 42mm of microblasted black ceramic, water-resistant up to 100 meters, and is priced at 31,900 CHF. With only 88 pieces available, this extraordinary watch represents the pinnacle of Swiss watchmaking and an indispensable addition for any discerning collector.
