Elegance, innovation, and horological mastery—the Laurent Ferrier Classic Moon Silver has been awarded the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in the Calendar and Astronomy category for 2024. This recognition not only celebrates the brand’s first moon phase complication but also reinforces Laurent Ferrier’s dedication to timeless design and technical brilliance.

A Win for the Classic Moon Silver

Crafted in an exquisite 18-carat red gold case, the Classic Moon Silver mesmerizes with its refined dial and unparalleled attention to detail. At its heart lies the groundbreaking LF126.02 calibre, boasting an annual calendar and a precision moon phase. The moon phase disc, crafted from Aventurine glass, is a masterpiece in itself, reflecting the brand’s commitment to blending traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation.

This victory at GPHG marks another milestone for Laurent Ferrier, a maison known for its understated yet transformative contributions to haute horlogerie. The award honors not just a watch but an enduring ethos—where art, science, and passion converge to create timepieces of lasting significance.

Timeless Design, Revolutionary Features

The Classic Moon Silver continues Laurent Ferrier’s legacy of blending form and function. Its pebbly-smooth 40 mm case is complemented by a sapphire case back, offering a stunning view of the meticulously finished movement. Key features include:

  • Annual Calendar: Seamlessly adjusts for months with 30 and 31 days, requiring manual correction only once a year.
  • Precision Moon Phase: A poetic representation of lunar cycles, rendered with exceptional detail.
  • 80-Hour Power Reserve: Ensures enduring performance through the hand-wound LF126.02 calibre.
  • Artisanal Finishes: Each component is crafted with techniques like circular graining, beveling, and the application of Rhodium-treated Côtes de Genève.

The moon phase display, set against a backdrop of delicate aventurine and Super-LumiNova details, is as functional as it is beautiful—a beacon of the maison’s artistic ingenuity.

A Collection Worth Exploring

Laurent Ferrier also unveiled the Classic Moon Blue, a modern counterpart to the award-winning Classic Moon Silver. Featuring a grey-blue opaline dial within a stainless steel case, this model offers a dynamic interpretation of the moon phase complication, ideal for collectors seeking a contemporary aesthetic.

Both references uphold the maison’s design language, where simplicity and sophistication work in harmony to celebrate the essence of fine watchmaking.
