Performance Meets Precision: The Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1® Edition by Girard-Perregaux

When two titans of engineering—Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team and Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux—combine their shared dedication to performance, innovation, and design mastery, the result is nothing short of extraordinary. In celebration of Formula One’s 75th anniversary, the pair unveil their latest creation: the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1® Edition. Limited to just 88 pieces, this timepiece is a tribute to the adrenaline-fueled world of motorsport and the precision of haute horlogerie, presented in a design that is both cutting-edge and timeless.

Housed in a robust 44mm Grade 5 titanium case, the watch blends high-performance materials with Girard-Perregaux’s signature aesthetics. Grade 5 titanium—favoured in both motorsport and watchmaking for its low mass, exceptional strength, and hypoallergenic, non-magnetic properties—undergoes a sandblasting treatment, giving it a subtle yet tactile texture. The result is a case that exudes power while offering remarkable wearability.

At the heart of this collaboration is the vivid Aston Martin Racing Green dial, a colour rich with heritage and instantly recognizable to motorsport enthusiasts. Accented with lime and white detailing, the dial pays homage to the livery of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team. The hour and minute hands are partially skeletonised, echoing the iconic grille design seen on Aston Martin road cars like the DB12. These hands, along with the applied indices, are filled with luminescent material to ensure readability under all conditions. The centre seconds hand and date display, rendered in the same zesty lime green found on the F1® cars, add a dynamic touch that reinforces the racing DNA of the piece.

Functionality is never compromised. With 300 metres of water resistance and a legible, no-nonsense dial, this is a watch built for everyday adventure. Yet, it doesn’t sacrifice comfort. The timepiece comes paired with a green FKM rubber strap featuring a fabric-effect finish and a titanium folding clasp with a micro-adjustment system. FKM rubber—chosen for its superior flexibility, wear resistance, and colourfastness—makes the strap exceptionally soft and durable, perfectly complementing the ergonomic case for a secure and luxurious fit.

The true powerhouse lies within: the GP03300-1060 movement, an in-house calibre designed and assembled in the historic horological heart of La Chaux-de-Fonds. This self-winding mechanical movement is comprised of 218 components and 27 jewels, and beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Offering a minimum 46-hour power reserve, it has been meticulously finished with horological hallmarks: circular Côtes de Genève on the rotor, straight Côtes de Genève on the bridges, mirror-polished screws, circular graining on the main plate, and engraved gilded text. It’s a visible manifestation of Girard-Perregaux’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship.

The Laureato line itself is steeped in history. Born in the 1970s, the model was Girard-Perregaux’s answer to the rising demand for luxury sports watches in steel with integrated bracelets. But unlike other marques, Girard-Perregaux handled every facet of the design and production in-house—from case and dial to movement. This holistic approach, rarely seen even today, set the Laureato apart. Over the decades, the model has evolved with new materials, complications, and design updates, while maintaining its distinctive octagonal bezel and refined character. The new Aston Martin F1® Edition represents the next chapter in this evolution—a timepiece born to race, yet tailored for those who appreciate restraint, elegance, and technical sophistication.

The synergy between Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team is more than symbolic. Both brands are pioneers in their respective fields, drawing from decades of innovation and technical mastery. Whether it’s the development of an F1® car or the crafting of a mechanical watch, the same core values apply: precision, performance, and the pursuit of perfection. This partnership embodies those ideals in every detail—from the sculpted curves of the case to the engineered excellence of the movement.

Each of the 88 timepieces is engraved with the iconic Aston Martin emblem on the caseback, a final nod to the partnership and a lasting reminder of Formula One’s 75th milestone season. With its bold aesthetics, robust performance features, and mechanical integrity, the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1® Edition is not merely a collector’s piece—it is a symbol of legacy, craftsmanship, and the relentless pursuit of greatness
