In celebration of Ahmed Seddiqi’s 75th anniversary, the UAE’s foremost luxury watch and jewellery destination has partnered with avant-garde watchmaker Ressence to unveil the TYPE 9 S75—a limited edition timepiece that captures the essence of Emirati heritage and modern horology. Limited to just 20 pieces, this unique collaboration brings the desert to life on the wrist, with a dial filled with real sand collected from all seven Emirates. Each grain symbolises unity, history, and the enduring beauty of the UAE’s natural landscape.

Designed as a living time sculpture, the watch integrates Ressence’s signature ROCS display system, eliminating traditional hands and offering a fluid, orbital reading of time. The dial is housed within a sleek 39mm Grade 5 titanium case, polished and lightweight at only 40 grams, and paired with a strap made of genuine camel leather—a nod to regional craftsmanship and cultural authenticity. The result is a wearable tribute that combines symbolism, artisanal detail, and cutting-edge mechanical design.

The TYPE 9 S75’s visual poetry lies in its seamless blend of nature and innovation. The sand-textured dial is not merely decorative—it’s a storytelling device that reflects the very land it celebrates. Paired with subtle green Grade A Super-LumiNova®-filled indices and minimalist timekeeping (hours and minutes only), the watch adheres to Ressence’s signature “Less is More” design philosophy, one that redefines modern mechanical minimalism.

Driven by a customised self-winding automatic calibre with the patented ROCS 9 (Ressence Orbital Convex System), the TYPE 9 S75 offers a 36-hour power reserve, 31 jewels, and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its innovative manual winding and setting via the caseback replaces the need for a crown, ensuring symmetry and a smooth user experience. The result is a piece that is both tactile and intuitive, making timekeeping feel almost organic.

More than a commemorative piece, the TYPE 9 S75 is a symbol of shared vision between Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi and Ressence founder Benoît Mintiens. Their joint desert excursion to collect the sand echoes the collaboration’s spirit—equal parts personal, poetic, and pioneering. The watch reflects Seddiqi’s commitment to curating rare and thoughtful experiences, while advancing the conversation between local heritage and global design excellence.

The launch of this edition reinforces Ressence’s reputation as one of horology’s most innovative independents, known for pushing the limits of mechanical design while preserving tactile storytelling. It is also a celebration of Ahmed Seddiqi’s enduring legacy—a family-run name synonymous with horological mastery and cultural reverence since 1950. Together, the TYPE 9 S75 offers not just a method to tell time, but a moment captured in motion—linking past, present, and the future of watchmaking.

At the heart of the TYPE 9 S75 lies a quiet sophistication that speaks to both the seasoned collector and the design enthusiast. Every detail, from the sand-textured titanium dial to the domed sapphire crystal, has been deliberately chosen to enhance both form and function. The engraved dial markings, softly glowing with Super-LumiNova®, enhance legibility while preserving the watch’s elemental minimalism. This balance between simplicity and technical finesse reflects Ressence’s design ethos: emotionally resonant, functionally profound.

The camel leather strap is more than a visual accent—it’s a tactile gesture to the UAE’s cultural identity. Naturally durable and ethically sourced, it complements the desert-dial aesthetic while offering comfort and resilience. Each strap matures over time, developing a unique patina that mirrors the evolution of the owner’s journey. The inclusion of custom monogramming and engraved serial numbers also ensures that each of the 20 watches is a personal heirloom, destined to become a future artifact of regional pride and horological innovation.

Released in a strictly limited edition of 20 pieces worldwide, the TYPE 9 S75 is priced at CHF 15,500 (excluding taxes). It is not just a watch—it’s a time capsule, a tribute to 75 years of Ahmed Seddiqi’s curatorial excellence and a milestone in Ressence’s boundary-pushing legacy. Whether gifted, passed down, or worn daily, it speaks to those who seek meaning in craftsmanship and value time as both a personal journey and a collective memory.

This exclusive collaboration is now available for reservation at Ahmed Seddiqi boutiques across the UAE. For more information, visit www.seddiqi.com/75th-anniversary or discover more about Ressence at www.ressencewatches.com.
