Cartier’s W&W 2020 models are presented under the theme of “Unexpected Encounters.” The Maison, as it often does, combines shapes and ideas that were never intended to meet. This is Cartier’s unique style. The square inside a circle, the graphic of the elegant and extroverted Pasha. The Tank Asymétrique morphs the rectangle to become part of the maison’s exclusive collection, Cartier Privé. Meanwhile, the evergreen Santos-Dumont collection has five new members this year.

TANK ASYMÉTRIQUE

This year, Cartier added six new Tank Asymétrique models to its exclusive Privé collection, each limited to 100 pieces. Three are opaque models: in 18K pink gold with a grey dial and strap; in 18K yellow gold with a champagne dial and brown strap; in platinum with a silver-coloured dial, ruby cabochon and grey strap. Three are skeleton models: in pink gold on a brown or grey strap; in platinum on a blue or black strap; in gem-set platinum on a black or glossy blue strap.

Two limited models of 30 pieces each have been added this year. One is the Ronde Louis Cartier Straw and Gold Marquetry Watch (42 mm) in 18K white gold.  The second is the Ronde Louis Cartier Enamel Filigree Watch (36 mm) in 18K white gold with 269 brilliant-cut diamonds (1.99 ct). The crown is set with a brilliant-cut diamond (0.08 ct).

PASHA DE CARTIER

This extrovert, unisex classic now has four new features. It has a blue spinel or sapphire crown, hidden under its signature fluted crown cover. The watch can be personalised by engraving one’s initials under the crown cover. The straps are interchangeable between steel, gold or leather using Cartier’s QuickSwitch system. A sapphire crystal case back unveils the 1847 MC automatic calibre within.

Santos de Cartier

SANTOS DE CARTIER

Cartier renews its tribute to “the dandy that was Santos-Dumont,” through the Santos-Dumont XL watch. This set of three watches, available in limited engraved series, is offered alongside an exclusive edition of 30 pieces presented in a precious box. Each of them beats to the rhythm of the 430 MC mechanical movement with manual winding.
