Hublot has unveiled an impressive line-up of timepieces at this year’s Watches And Wonders, headlined by the stunning Big Bang Mp-11 Water Blue Sapphire. No fewer than 14 new models were presented in Geneva, from unique one-offs to honouring the brand’s signature calibre.
Five New Unico 1280 Timepieces
Hublot unveiled five models powered by the Unico calibre 1280, the second generation of the brand’s signature calibre. While being slim enough to fit into a 42-mm case, it has a simplified design, has a better winding mechanism, excellent chronograph performance and display, and improved shock absorption. Unico calibre 1280 powers five new products unveiled at this year’s edition of Watches and Wonders in Geneva.
Big Bang Unico Orange Ceramic and Big Bang Unico Dark Green Ceramic are a pair of limited editions (250 pieces each) in 42 mm. The striking orange ceramic is a first in the watch industry. Big Bang Unico Pink Sapphire debuts a translucent light pink hue of the crystal and is an ultra-limited edition of just 100 pieces. There are also two Square Bang models, one with a micro-blasted black ceramic case and Magic Gold bezel, while the other case and bezel are made from 18K Magic Gold. The latter version is limited to 200 pieces.
Six new Big Bang Integrated Time Only models
The case and bracelet of the six new models, as their name suggests, are both made from the same material. There are two versions in brushed titanium, with a black or a blue dial. The next two versions are in King Gold, available with these same two dial colourways.
The last two versions are in ceramic. The first version is entirely navy blue, with a blue dial. The second version features “Black Magic” – a style dear to Hublot – with the case, bracelet and dial in deepest black. This is the first Big Bang Black Magic ever created on a watch measuring 38 mm – a diameter previously only available on rare Classic Fusion models.
New Big Bang e Gen 3 Connected Watch UEFA Euro 2024
The Big Bang e Gen 3, unveiled for the first time in 2022 to coincide with the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, gets an update dedicated to the Euro 2024. Its 44 mm titanium case houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon WearTM 4100+ processor, delivering better performance than its predecessor. Notable features include 8 different sensors and GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC payment connectivity. It is compatible with both Google Android and Apple iOS operating systems.
It can be dressed in the colours of the wearer’s favourite teams, as the screen backgrounds and straps can be changed. This new connected watch will allow its wearer to follow – in real time – the final phase of the next UEFA 2024 European Championship, set to take place in Germany from 14th June to 14th July. The team line-up includes France, led by its captain Kylian Mbappé, Hublot’s brand ambassador since 2018.
Spirit Of Big Bang Sang Bleu in Transparent Sapphire
After 8 years of collaboration between Hublot and French Artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi, we finally have a creation in sapphire. The three-dimensional geometry and the indelible features of Sang Bleu have been inked into Hublot’s high-tech material of choice.
The watch retains the 42 mm diameter, the barrel shape and the chiselled and faceted features of a Sang Bleu timepiece with overlaying hexagons, rhombuses and triangles. However, the sapphire now extends from the dial – which reveals the HUB4700 self-winding skeleton chronograph movement – to the case and the bezel. The complexity of the design meant that Hublot had to push the boundaries of machining sapphire, involving 3D machining and over 100 hours of work. The case is as hard and scratch-resistant as a diamond.
Big Bang Unico Ice Bang
For its new online exclusive, Hublot has released a unique piece: an “Ice Bang” equipped with the Unico movement and an array of high-tech materials and features which make it a must-have piece. Only 100 timepieces will be available exclusively from Hublot’s e-commerce boutique
This timepiece is a marvellous miniature masterpiece, orchestrated so that its numerals and mechanics are superimposed and combined, blending together into a harmonious two-tone creation which can be admired through the sapphire crystal with its anti-reflective coating.
The matt black dial reveals the column wheel of the HUB1280 Manufacture calibre, a self-winding flyback chronograph movement with a 72-hour power reserve. The calendar disc pirouettes beneath the hour indices in a ballet against the beat, with the date shown at 3 o’clock in the seconds counter.
