In 2006, Jonathan Purnell founded Cecil Purnell SA, to specialize in high-velocity tourbillons. He was also honouring his grandfather, who instilled in him a passion for watchmaking, and tourbillons in particular. Every timepiece created by the brand so far has included a tourbillon. Over the past fifteen years, Purnell has created 13 tourbillon calibres, winning numerous awards and accolades along the way.
Escape II Double Spherion
The Caliber CP03 of this watch possesses two Spherions – the world’s fastest triple-axis tourbillon developed by Purnell in 2017. The two cages revolve in opposite directions thanks to its differential system. The twins are clearly visible through the monobloc sapphire crystal that covers a see-through case designed for high visibility. It even has a side window at 9 o’clock. The case comes with a choice of three materials: 18K rose gold, titanium grade 5 and Black DLC Titanium grade 5.
