Since 2015, Speake-Marin has initiated a movement strategy to fully develop and assemble proprietary movements within its atelier in Neuchatel, Switzerland. This new strategy gave birth to the “SMA” collection, which includes open-worked, closed dials and haute horlogerie movements. Initially, Speake-Marin focused its efforts on Haute Horlogerie 3 Hz movements – minute repeater and double tourbillon. Then they developed hour-minutes-seconds 4Hz movements, which were featured in the new One&Two design as an open-worked movement named SMA01. This movement stands out thanks to the small second counter being positioned at 1:30.
One&Two Openworked Tourbillon
The case (38 or 42 mm) is a new generation of the brand’s Piccadilly case design in titanium, with sapphire crystal on top and open back. Its purpose is to lay bare the workings of the self-winding SMA05 Calibre, particularly its micro-rotor 60-sec flying tourbillon placed at the 1:30 position. The power reserve, indicated at the 7:30 position, is 72 hours. The open-worked dial is black with a micro blasted mat finish. The strap is black alligator with a folding buckle in titanium.
