RM Sotheby’s has announced the final consignments heading to its inaugural Dubai sale, to be held on 9 March at Concrete in Alserkal Avenue in the Al Quoz district. The sale comprises 45 lots, offering a stunning selection of rare cars, memorabilia and ten high-end watches.
The stars of the show are undoubtedly the cars on offer. And top among them is the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, estimated to fetch between USD 3 and 3.5 million. In this variant nearly all the creature comforts of the car it is based on were sacrificed in the pursuit of performance and driving exhilaration. It has the same 641 brake horsepower, 5.4-litre supercharged AMG V-8 that powers the SLR 722 Edition, but with 200 kilograms of weight savings. The result is 0-100 kmph time of 3.5 seconds and top speed of 354 kmph.
The fine example being offered has been sparingly driven with just 9,233 kilometres from new and is presented in the metallic shade of Crystal Antimon Grey over a Black and Anthracite leather interior. As one of just 75 examples built and inspired by Sir Stirling Moss’ iconic 1955 Mille Miglia victory, the model is highly sought-after by collectors.
Second on the leaderboard is the 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé valued between USD 2.9 and 3.3 million. Limited to a mere 150 examples, it blends the adrenaline of Formula 1 with the luxury of road-legal grandeur. Its electric motor-assisted Cosworth V-12 engine unleashing a formidable 1140 brake horsepower, sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 2.6 seconds, and hits a top speed surpassing the 400 kmph threshold.
This example is presented in Scintilla Silver adorned with Speed Red graphics. With only 123 kilometres recorded on the odometer at the time of cataloguing, this particular Valkyrie Coupé is in pristine “as new” condition.
The 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR on offer, between USD 2.8 and 3.4 million, is one of only three Agera RSRs produced. This fact elevates the once “world’s fastest production car” to new levels of exclusivity. The Agera RSR distinguishes itself with advanced aerodynamic enhancements, including a revised roof-mounted air scoop and a dynamically engineered spoiler, optimizing its formidable speed and stability. Its 5.0-litre V-8 engine delivers an astonishing 1,160 horsepower.
This example is adorned in a sleek black finish with striking red accents and carbon fibre trim. The odometer reading is a mere 993 kilometres.
Another rare machine on offer is the 2018 Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet, valued between USD 700 and 800 thousand. Arguably the ultimate G-Wagen and an open-top off-roader like no other, this Mercedes-AMG 6.0-litre V-12, 621 brake horsepower machine is one of just 99 examples built.
Boasting spacious and luxuriously appointed rear seats designed around a lengthened wheelbase, this example was delivered new in Monza Gray Magno over a Brown leather interior. First delivered to France, it now reads 2,069 kilometres on the odometer and is estimated to sell for.
For those seeking something unique, there is the 2015 Rolls-Royce ‘Silver Spectre’ Shooting Brake by Carat Duchatelet. A one-of-one modern coachbuilt Shooting Brake, this custom-built car was designed by Neils van Roij Design and executed by Carat Duchatelet, with the conversion taking over 2,500 hours to complete. Powered by a 6.6-litre V-12 engine uprated to deliver 690 brake horsepower, this bespoke motorcar is estimated to sell for between USD 275,000 and 325,000.
