Discover the unparalleled blend of classic Maserati heritage and modern innovation with Modena Automobili’s exclusive Biturbo Shamal Restomod.

In 1982, Maserati unveiled the Biturbo, a car that quickly became an icon of automotive excellence, blending power, style, and innovation. This compact coupe, created by visionary Alejandro De Tomaso, introduced an innovative V6 twin-turbo engine and luxury interiors that captured the admiration of car enthusiasts. As a symbol of Maserati’s commitment to performance, the Biturbo was a major milestone, setting the stage for the Biturbo Shamal, an even more powerful iteration launched in 1989.

The Ultimate Evolution: Maserati Shamal

The Maserati Shamal marked the pinnacle of the Biturbo family, featuring a robust 3.2-liter V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 322 horsepower. Its design, crafted by the legendary Marcello Gandini, included muscular styling, enhanced aerodynamics, and unique features like the asymmetric rear fender cut. With only 369 Shamals produced, this model became a collector’s dream, a true testament to Maserati’s legacy of luxury and performance.

Maserati Biturbo Shamal Restomod: Past Meets Future

Today, Modena Automobili, a team of experts from Italy’s “Motor Valley,” is bringing the Biturbo Shamal back to life with the MA-01 Biturbo Shamal Restomod. This exclusive restomod merges the legendary style of the Shamal with cutting-edge technology, creating a new, high-performance luxury vehicle that pays homage to Maserati’s heritage.

Built on the classic 1983 Maserati Biturbo Coupe, the restomod features extensive updates, modern design, and enhanced engineering to rival today’s supercars, all while maintaining the Biturbo Shamal’s distinct aesthetics.

Unmatched Performance with Maserati’s Signature Style

While the original Maserati Shamal boasted a 3.2-liter V8, the MA-01 Biturbo Shamal upgrades to a powerful 3.0-liter Twin Turbo V6 engine. This modern engine produces 500 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds with a top speed of 290 km/h. Designed with Ferrari’s expertise, the advanced engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic ZF transmission, offering rapid gear shifts and a driving experience that balances thrill with control.

The suspension system, upgraded with MacPherson front components and semi-trailing rear arms, provides improved stability and handling. Paired with Brembo calipers and power-assisted brakes, the MA-01 Biturbo Shamal delivers top-tier safety and control, while Pirelli PZero tires on custom wheels echo the original design’s elegance.

Bold Design Evolution in the Maserati Biturbo Shamal Restomod

Modena Automobili’s restomod reinterprets the Shamal’s iconic look, incorporating both steel and carbon fiber to reduce weight while adding aerodynamics. Highlights include a lower front grille, redesigned LED headlights, and a sleeker, more aggressive front splitter. Air intakes strategically enhance downforce, while flared wheel arches and a new hood design create a muscular, sport-inspired profile.

Inside, the MA-01 Biturbo Shamal redefines luxury and comfort with Recaro Classic LX seats featuring adjustable headrests and high-quality, customizable upholstery options. A new digital TFT instrument cluster maintains the classic oval shape of the original model while seamlessly integrating modern infotainment and climate controls, making this restomod as functional as it is elegant.

Limited Edition Maserati Biturbo Shamal Restomod: A Rare Gem

Only 33 units of the Biturbo Shamal Restomod will be produced, each hand-assembled in Modena, Italy, with the highest standards of Italian craftsmanship. With a starting price of €585,000 (excluding taxes), this highly collectible Maserati restomod allows for extensive customization, ensuring each model is unique and tailored to its owner’s specifications. Orders are now open, with delivery estimated between 8 to 10 months depending on customization.

Maserati’s Heritage Lives On

The MA-01 Maserati Biturbo Shamal Restomod by Modena Automobili is a celebration of Maserati’s iconic legacy brought into the modern era. This exclusive restomod combines the allure of a timeless classic with the best of modern automotive engineering, making it a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
