Gordon Murray’s Masterpieces Head to Abu Dhabi: McLaren F1 and GMA T.50 Offered Together at Auction for the First Time

RM Sotheby’s has announced a landmark moment in automotive history: the auction of a 1994 McLaren F1 alongside a 2025 Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Collectors’ Week this December. It will be the first time both of Professor Gordon Murray’s road car masterpieces have been presented together at auction — and the first time a T.50 has ever been offered publicly.

The McLaren F1 is widely considered the greatest supercar of the modern era. Designed with Formula 1-inspired technology and pioneering carbon fibre construction, its 6.1-litre BMW V-12 produced 627 bhp and redefined performance benchmarks for a generation. The example crossing the block in Abu Dhabi, chassis 014, is one of just 64 road-going F1s. Originally delivered to the Brunei Royal Family, it was later rebuilt by McLaren and fitted with the coveted High-Downforce Kit, LM-spec details, and carries the rare distinction of autographs from both Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. With fewer than 14,000 kilometres, it is expected to achieve in excess of $21 million USD.

The GMA T.50, by contrast, represents Gordon Murray’s vision thirty years on — an evolution of his uncompromising pursuit of the ultimate driver’s car. Powered by a 4.0-litre Cosworth-built V-12 producing 661 bhp, the T.50 is the lightest and most responsive engine of its kind, capable of extraordinary pickup speeds. Only 100 examples will ever exist, and the car offered in Abu Dhabi, chassis 035, is beautifully specified in Harrier paint with gloss carbon accents and Heritage Orange details. With fewer than 300 kilometres driven, it carries an estimate in excess of $5 million USD.

Together, these cars embody Murray’s legacy: the F1 as the definitive supercar benchmark, and the T.50 as its spiritual successor, blending modern engineering with the same obsession for purity, balance, and performance. To see them offered side by side is a rare cultural moment that transcends motoring, positioning them as collectible works of art as much as machines.

Hosted at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort during Formula 1 weekend, Abu Dhabi Collectors’ Week will unite automobiles, fine art, jewellery, watches, and design in one global stage celebrating rarity and excellence. For RM Sotheby’s, it is an opportunity not only to showcase extraordinary cars but to situate them within the wider world of collecting.

“These two cars represent the very spirit of Abu Dhabi Collectors’ Week,” says Duccio Lopresto, Managing Director, MENA at RM Sotheby’s. “They embody performance, craftsmanship, and exclusivity — qualities that resonate far beyond the automotive world.”

For collectors, enthusiasts, and admirers alike, the pairing of McLaren F1 and GMA T.50 offers a once-in-a-generation glimpse into the genius of Gordon Murray, where engineering brilliance and visionary design converge.

The landscape of luxury mobility enters a new era with the unveiling of the all-electric Mercedes-Benz GLC 2025, a model that seamlessly blends pioneering design, cutting-edge technology, and sustainable performance. As the latest addition to the marque’s expanding EV portfolio, the Electric GLC represents not only a bold commitment to a cleaner future but also a redefinition of what it means to travel in style and comfort. From the very first glance, the Electric GLC 2025 embodies the hallmark elegance of Mercedes-Benz while introducing subtle futuristic refinements. Its flowing lines, dynamic proportions, and signature light design emphasize aerodynamics without compromising the muscular stance of an SUV. This duality—strength and refinement—captures the essence of modern luxury, where innovation meets timeless design. Inside, the cabin becomes an immersive sanctuary, crafted with the meticulous attention to detail for which Mercedes-Benz is renowned. Sustainable materials are integrated throughout, aligning with the brand’s vision of eco-conscious luxury. The digital cockpit, anchored by the latest MBUX infotainment system, creates a seamless interface between driver, passenger, and vehicle, anticipating needs with intuitive intelligence. Performance, however, is where the Electric GLC distinguishes itself. Engineered with next-generation electric architecture, the SUV delivers impressive range, instant torque, and a whisper-quiet drive that enhances both urban agility and long-distance comfort. Advanced battery technology ensures faster charging times, while Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to efficiency guarantees that sustainability never comes at the expense of driving pleasure. Safety remains paramount. The Electric GLC 2025 is equipped with the brand’s most advanced suite of driver-assistance systems, ensuring confidence on every journey. From adaptive cruise control to predictive traffic monitoring, every innovation reinforces Mercedes-Benz’s dedication to protecting both driver and passenger while pioneering autonomous-ready features. Equally significant is the model’s role within the brand’s broader electric strategy. The Electric GLC 2025 is more than a vehicle—it is a milestone in Mercedes-Benz’s ambition to achieve carbon neutrality and to lead the industry in sustainable mobility. As the EV market grows increasingly competitive, the Electric GLC asserts its presence with a balance of performance, prestige, and responsibility. For discerning drivers, the Electric GLC 2025 is not just about reaching a destination—it is about redefining the journey itself. It invites its passengers into a future where luxury is measured not only by comfort and craftsmanship but also by sustainability and innovation. In doing so, Mercedes-Benz has once again raised the standard for the industry, making the Electric GLC 2025 an icon of its time.
