Ferrari Unveils the Elettrica: A New Era of Electrified Excellence

At Capital Markets Day 2025, Ferrari unveiled the production-ready chassis and components of its first fully electric model — the Ferrari Elettrica — marking a historic leap for the Prancing Horse. This is not merely an electric car; it is the culmination of more than a decade of innovation, engineering mastery, and relentless pursuit of emotion through technology. Designed and built entirely in Maranello, the Elettrica embodies the spirit of Ferrari’s heritage while redefining what performance means in the electric age.

Ferrari’s journey toward electrification began with hybrid experimentation in Formula 1 and evolved through icons such as the 599 HY-KERS prototype, the LaFerrari, and the SF90 Stradale. Each project laid the groundwork for a car that could uphold Ferrari’s signature driving soul without compromise. The Elettrica represents the completion of that vision — powered by over 60 proprietary patents, featuring a chassis built from 75% recycled aluminium, and delivering a driving experience that remains unmistakably Ferrari.

At its core, the Elettrica is a masterpiece of integration. The battery, designed and assembled in-house, sits low within the chassis, lowering the centre of gravity by 80 millimetres compared to an internal combustion model. The result is a dynamic equilibrium — a car with extraordinary agility and precision, capable of translating electric innovation into emotion. The architecture’s short overhangs and forward driving position mirror Ferrari’s mid-engined berlinettas, ensuring pure feedback and an intuitive connection between car and driver.

Performance, however, remains at the heart of every detail. The Elettrica features four in-house-developed electric motors housed within two e-axles — each boasting remarkable power density and efficiency. With instantaneous torque, predictive handling systems, and an advanced 48V active suspension derived from the Purosangue, the Elettrica promises both serenity and ferocity in equal measure. Ferrari’s engineers describe it as “the most dynamically responsive Ferrari ever built,” with a centre of gravity lower than any model before it.

Perhaps the most evocative feature of all is the sound — not artificially generated, but born from the mechanical vibrations of the car’s own powertrain. Using sensors that capture and amplify these natural frequencies, Ferrari has composed an authentic electric soundtrack, one that evolves with acceleration and torque. It’s a nod to the brand’s passion for emotion as much as performance — a reminder that silence, too, can roar.

The Elettrica’s design language, still to be fully revealed, will continue Ferrari’s timeless dialogue between art and engineering. The official world premiere is scheduled for spring 2026, when the completed car will make its global debut, showcasing a harmonious union of form, function, and electrified soul. It is the beginning of a new era — one where sustainability meets speed, and where Ferrari’s heritage of craftsmanship propels it confidently into the future.

In essence, the Ferrari Elettrica is not a departure from tradition but its most daring evolution. With its in-house battery innovation, precision sound design, and uncompromising engineering, it redefines what it means to experience a Ferrari — transforming electric performance into an art form.
