Aston Martin DB12 S: Redefining the Super Tourer for a New Era

Aston Martin’s newest halo model, the DB12 S, arrives as a bold reimagining of the marque’s legendary DB lineage—an evolution defined by power, precision, and uncompromising elegance. Building on the foundation of the acclaimed DB12, the DB12 S pushes the Super Tourer philosophy further, enhancing performance while preserving the refinement and craftsmanship synonymous with Aston Martin. Its introduction marks a new chapter for the brand’s high-performance “S” portfolio, joining the DBX S and Vantage S in a revived era of sharper, more purposeful driving machines.

At the heart of the DB12 S beats an uprated 4.0-litre Twin-Turbo V8, now producing a commanding 700PS and 800Nm of torque. The result is an exhilarating 0–60mph sprint in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 202mph—a testament not only to enhanced power but to meticulous calibration across throttle response, gearshift mapping, and launch control. The effect is a supercar-level surge delivered with the composure and sophistication expected of a true Grand Tourer.

The new quad-tailpipe stainless steel sports exhaust system underscores this heightened capability with a deeper, more resonant sound signature. For those seeking an even more expressive voice, an optional titanium system amplifies the full spectrum of tones while trimming nearly 12kg from the car’s weight. This emphasis on lightweight engineering continues with the standard carbon ceramic brakes, which reduce unsprung weight by 27kg while elevating stopping power and pedal consistency, even under sustained, high-performance use.

Aston Martin engineers have honed the DB12 S chassis with a suite of focused enhancements. Revised Bilstein DTX damper software, a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, and updated suspension geometry combine to sharpen cornering agility and steering connection without sacrificing touring comfort. Complementing this is a recalibrated electronic rear differential and next-generation corner braking control, enabling later braking, tighter lines, and a more intuitive, exploitable balance through every phase of a corner. The result is a driving experience that feels more immediate, more communicative, and more alive than ever.

Visually, the DB12 S communicates its elevated performance with a bolder, more assertive stance. A new dual-element front splitter, functional bonnet louvres, gloss black sills, and a fixed rear spoiler form an aerodynamic package that enhances stability while introducing a more muscular presence. The dramatic rear diffuser accommodates stacked quad tailpipes, delivering a signature look that signals both capability and character. Subtle yet exquisite details—such as forged “S” badges with red enamel—pay homage to Aston Martin’s storied heritage of high-performance variants.

Inside, the DB12 S adopts a suite of distinctive refinements that set it apart from the standard model. A red-anodised drive mode rotary controller becomes a focal point of the cockpit, reflected in bespoke stitching, seat welts, and embroidered headrests. Three interior environments—Accelerate, Inspire S leather and Alcantara, and Inspire S full semi-aniline leather—offer a curated blend of tactile richness and sporting intent. Optional additions such as a heated Alcantara steering wheel and Carbon Fibre Performance seats reinforce the car’s dual identity as both a luxury grand tourer and a precision-driving machine.

Available in both Coupe and Volante forms, the DB12 S is now open for order, with first deliveries set for Q1 2026. More than a high-performance derivative, it stands as the definitive expression of Aston Martin’s modern Super Tourer identity—an intoxicating fusion of power, control, craftsmanship, and emotional resonance. For the marque and its loyal enthusiasts, the DB12 S represents not just the next step forward, but the purest articulation yet of the DB philosophy.
