Ferrari’s pursuit of automotive perfection has been crowned once again on the global stage as the Italian marque clinched one of the world’s most prestigious design honours. At the 2025 iF Design Awards, the Ferrari 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider were each awarded the coveted iF Gold Award, joining an elite list of just 75 Gold winners selected from over 10,500 entries across 70 nations. This dual recognition marks a defining moment for Ferrari’s design legacy and underscores the enduring appeal of the V12 lineage in the modern era.

Presented by the iF International Forum Design GmbH, the iF Design Award is one of the most influential design competitions worldwide. Each year, a panel of international experts evaluates submissions across a wide range of industries, with only the most exceptional receiving Gold status. In their comments, the judges lauded the Ferrari 12Cilindri duo for their “ingenious use of graphic elements that wrap the 3D surfaces,” praising the sculptural form that is “both exciting and reassuring.” It is a tribute not only to design but to emotional engineering—a Ferrari hallmark.

Designed by the Ferrari Design Centre under the creative direction of Flavio Manzoni, the 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider embody a bold continuation of the Prancing Horse’s front-engined V12 Grand Tourer tradition. Inspired by the elegance and proportions of the 1950s and ‘60s classics, both models strike a unique balance between visual restraint and raw performance. At a glance, their designs appear simple and harmonious—but a closer look reveals sophisticated aerodynamic detailing, such as seamlessly integrated active aero systems, a striking front-hinged clamshell bonnet, and refined sculptural surfaces that flow across the chassis.

The 12Cilindri models are more than exercises in nostalgia. They represent the evolution of Ferrari’s iconic design DNA, elevated to meet contemporary expectations of performance, comfort, and luxury. Their twin exhausts, distinctive light signatures, and deep flanks subtly nod to heritage, while the precision-engineered details demonstrate Ferrari’s unrelenting forward motion.
