In a dazzling demonstration of engineering supremacy, the Rimac Nevera R has shattered expectations and global records alike, firmly cementing its place in automotive history. On July 9, 2025, the Nevera R not only reclaimed its coveted 0-400-0 km/h crown but also obliterated every performance record previously set by its predecessor, the original Nevera, tallying a remarkable 24 new world records. The upgraded hypercar achieved the 0-400-0 km/h sprint in just 25.79 seconds—an extraordinary feat that outpaces the previous holder by over two seconds.

This record is no small achievement; it signifies an evolution in electric hypercar technology, blending engineering precision with ferocious power. Originally hailed for its incredible 2023 feat of setting 23 records in a single day at Germany’s ATP facility, the Nevera platform has now evolved into the Nevera R — faster, sharper, and bolder. The newly recorded benchmarks were independently verified by Dewesoft, adding an authoritative stamp to what may be the most successful performance test run in hypercar history.

The core of the Nevera R’s transformation lies in a meticulous reengineering of nearly every major component. An enhanced aerodynamic package—featuring a fixed rear wing and enlarged diffuser—yields 15% more downforce and a 10% boost in aerodynamic efficiency. Complementing these advancements, Michelin Cup 2 tires enhance grip and reduce understeer, working seamlessly with Rimac’s next-generation All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system. This system recalibrates power delivery 100 times per second to each individual wheel, ensuring peak performance on every corner and straightaway.

Its statistics are staggering. The Nevera R sprints from 0-60 mph in a lightning-fast 1.66 seconds and reaches 100 km/h in 1.72 seconds—faster than almost any other production vehicle, electric or otherwise. At higher speeds, the improvements are even more dramatic: 200 km/h arrives in just 3.95 seconds, 300 km/h in 7.89 seconds, and the top speed maxes out at 431.45 km/h (268.2 mph). The quarter mile is conquered in just 7.90 seconds, while the standing mile flashes by in 19.71 seconds.

Under the hood—or more aptly, beneath the composite carbon monocoque—lies an incredible 2,107 hp powertrain, driven by four independent motors and orchestrated by Rimac’s unparalleled software suite. It’s not just raw numbers; it’s the finesse in how power is distributed and how feedback is absorbed. This sophistication makes the Nevera R not just a track monster but a remarkably usable daily hypercar, a rare balance in the world of elite performance vehicles.

Founder and President of Rimac Group, Mate Rimac, perfectly encapsulated the brand’s ethos: “When we first introduced Nevera, it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached… But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here.”

The Nevera R’s record-breaking streak doesn’t stop with acceleration. It bested its predecessor in every category—some by wide margins. Highlights include 0-200 mph in 9.25 seconds, 0-400 km/h in 17.35 seconds, and 0-100-0 km/h in just 3.32 seconds. These aren’t incremental improvements; they’re seismic shifts, each one pushing the boundary of what’s technically possible in a production car.

Already limited to just 40 units globally and starting at €2.3 million, the Nevera R is more than a car—it’s a statement. A collector’s trophy. A landmark of electric engineering. With a legacy that already includes the production EV top speed record (set by the original Nevera at 256 mph), the Goodwood hillclimb record, and Nürburgring dominance, the Nevera R is poised to extend that legacy even further.

In a world rapidly transitioning toward electrification, Rimac isn’t just keeping pace—it’s setting the pace. And with the Nevera R, that pace is mind-bendingly fast.
